My colleague who is a new T2 has been advised by the nurse not to eat peanut butter. She didn't ask why not. I am curious. We thought it might be because of its fat content and cause cholestrol to increase. We looked around the internet and can only find that it is quite calorific but not a problem with cholesterol. Does anyone have any further guess why she was told that? My Diabetes nurse told me it was fine and I should make smoothies with avocado!! Not sure about that mix.
