This is just a quick one - I've now been at this game for a month, since I was first diagnosed on 1st May. I cannot believe how long May seemed; I kept telling myself that if I could just make it to June, I'd have made it to a landmark, small though it might be, and I could definitely do this.

Had a huge cry on Sunday night, although I think I felt a lot better from it, and saying to my housemate that, no, I'm not really coping as well as I want to.

I've now got two injections of Novorapid (tiny though, at 2 units each), to go with my Lantus, which we keep having to take down (I'm at just 6 units now).

But the main point of my posting this is to say a huge thank you to each and every one of you. You've all been fantastic, and so helpful. You've made this much, much easier for me, and made me feel like I'm not on my own. So thank you all for being such wonderful people.

xx

Well done for making it to June!

We're all in it together, and it's a long game, some days let alone months see long for me!

Keep posting your not alone, they keep me going to!

I've only been playing with it for about little over 6 months so new to me too.

keep your chin up.

Oh Becky,

Really hope and feel things will pick up soon for you. I would not be worried you feel this way, in fact- I would be worried if you didnt feel this way one month in. I would be concerned you hadnt taken on board the significance of whats going on. Its painful I know, but in the long run you will feel brighter about all this, and believe it or not it gets so much easier. I find it bizarre saying this to someone else, because at the time, for me, I just couldnt see it and now I find myself in this remarkable situation where I can actually cope and get on with an ordinary life.

Dont get me wrong, life would have been much easier without diabetes! But Becky you are coping with a big change to your life here, and once the dust settles you will get back back to being you, an ever better and stronger version!

Well done on getting month under your belt, stay well and strong x

Congratulations on your first month.

I think that everyone has these feelings in the beginning, especially once the kinda drama of diagnosis is over, and you realise that this isn't going to go away. For me every now and again i feel down about it all, and take some time off being diabetic as much as I can.

Small doses of novorapid will help your control i'm sure. I'm not surprised that you are having to lower your lantus dose, which is what i tried to explain in that Pm, not sure I did a great job of it though. I only use small doses 1-6 units each time. Do you have a half unit pen? might be worth asking your DSN for one, when only using small doses it does make a difference
