Have to correct this one. MODY isn't type 2, although it does sound like it from the name. MODY is a type of monogenic diabetes. The WHO classifies diabetes as Type 1 (which includes LADA), type 2, and other specific causes. MODY is listed under other specific causes.

That's not even the proper term...the real name is glycosylated haemoglobin. Hb is the shorthand for haemoglobin and the A1c is the type of haemoglobin, it's because there are approximately thirteen different haemoglobin molecules circulating in human blood as I recall.

Yes, but I don't go round saying Diabetes Mellitus either, the doctor would think i'm a right (door) knob 😉
