Hi everyone
I used to post on here many years ago. Couldn't remember my username or password so have had to set up a new account.
I was diagnosed with type 1 10yrs ago and quite honestly haven't looked after myself. So I made an appointment at my GP today.....blood test in 4 weeks That's the earliest they can do. So I said give me the form and I'll get someone at work to do bloods (I work in healthcare, a hospice) apparently a Dr has to phone me regarding this request.
So I've come home and decided I've got to sort my life out. I eat rubbish although I'm slim but I don't eat fruit and veg. I've ordered my shopping and it contains fruit and veg
Can anyone advise me on some good menus please?
Lols x

Welcome back Lols.....

We have a thread "What did you eat yesterday" which has many interesting ideas along with our food & recipes section.

Thank you Martin. I'll go check that out.
I just hope I've not left it too late to sort my life out.

Thank you.
The forum has changed so it will take me awhile to navigate my way around.

Welcome Lols 🙂 x

Hi Lols, I'm type 2 and had everything under control 2 years ago and then went totally off the rails, Eating everything in sight and not excercising, Had a big reality check a couple of weeks ago and now battling to get back to normal. This forum is great and once you know your way around there are lots of great recipes etc.

Hi Hols, from a T2 who's two years, 3 months, 1 week and 1 day in.

Hi Lols, welcome back 🙂 Sorry to hear you have been having problems, but good to see you determined to turn things around and back posting 🙂 Hopefully, the thread about what people are eating will provide lots of examples for you, plus it's worth having a brows of the Food/Recipe section as well.

Are you still being looked after by your GP or did you get referred on to a consultant-led clinic? Are you carb counting now, did you get to go on a course? There's a useful introductory guide to carb counting free from Diabetes UK here:

https://shop.diabetes.org.uk/store/...ion/information-books/carbs-count-e-book.aspx

With more information on it here:

https://www.diabetes.org.uk/Guide-t...and-diabetes/nuts-and-bolts-of-carb-counting/

Feel free to ask any questions you have 🙂 Surprised you remember my poems, I think I probably wrote a lot more since you were last here, but haven't written any for a while now 🙂
