Oat milk - do you count the carbs?

Hi Inka. I think it's because I spent several years as a type 2 that I'm still in the 'carbs are bad' mindset. I got reassigned to "we're calling it type 1 for now" in March. So you're right - I CAN have oat milk and it actually hadn't occurred to me until I read your post.. I also tend to beat myself up for ever going over 10 (I was 16 today, aargh, due to failing to accurately guess carbs at a buffet lunch). Being a "type 1 for now" AND a perfectionist is hard work.

It is indeed. Sadly, you can only ditch one of those things, but accepting that perfection is impossible and being kind to yourself really does help. If it makes you feel any better, I went to a party a few years ago and greatly misjudged the crisps and nibbles in my celebratory wine-y haze and got a blood sugar of 19 😱 It happens to us all. I just corrected and all was ok, with the rest of the evening going well.

Ah, well done. Correction doses are my next lesson. Hopefully Gary Scheiner will advise on that.
