Hope to have some good news for once on Friday with the my second appointment with the hospital DN as things are going pear shaped on other health issues.

I had my annual ish sleep apnea appointment, it seems that while my apnea's have stayed stable at the same rate as last year which is the good news. The cpap machine is now running at a pressure of 19 out of a max of 20, was 16 last year.

Weight has stabilised my be lost a kilo as was wearing heavy motor bike clothing. also now ordered a heated air hose so I can increase the humidity of the humidifier without getting rain out effect.

The bad news is she's writing to the doc of her concerns about weight and diabetes interacting with the sleep apnea. Also having increased blood pressure meds around 8 weeks ago, I submitted another days monitoring results and was expecting another call back from the doc. Had the call a day after from the GP wanting to change meds again as pressure to high.

So many interactions now going on between illnesses and meds, it's getting a nightmare to manage, I want to loose weight and need to loose a lot.

I know that they have ruled out insulin for the time being, but Victoza could well be on the cards, just hope I can get it and it does help with the weight loss, I hate this gliclazide as I just can't win with it.

Pav good luck for Friday, I hope if you go on Victoza it works for you, i tryed it for about 6 months

Need to try something different, even if it's just a kick start in helping the process of the weight loss, before going back on gliclazide I was slowly winning the battle, now it's become a nightmare.

Best of luck.

Yes good luck. 🙂

Oh well appointment never went as expected, HbA1c test came back as 54 and according to the hospital team that is ok for someone triple oral meds. Even explaining what was going on with other illnesses. Even took the print off showing the spikes and the rapid changes, so no med changes and stuck with gliclazide, sitagliptin and metformin.

Also discharged from the hospital team as not meeting the magical 58 criteria, and was asked to redo the XPERT course again as the content has changed since I last did it and gone away from the 135g a day carb requirement, though rarely coming close to eating that amount of carbs a day.

Another diet option was on the lines of a high protein / fat and low carb diet.

Hmm Pav sorry the appointment was a let down, so they really can just kick someone from being under a hospital for not reaching there desired levels 🙄

Oh, have I got the wrong end of the stick? I assume the hopsital are saying Pav's HbA1c isn't BAD enough to warrant being seen at the hospital, not kicking him off because it's not good enough.

Yes, my levels are not bad enough for the hospital to see me, back to square one. Just hope I can get somewhere now with the new gp practice later on. I was also told I was testing to much and not to bother with after meal tests, most of my testing in the past month was higher than normal as I had been driving a lot, resulting a lot of driving tests, can't win.

So you've done too good a job of taking charge of your D?! How frustrating xx

According to them it's acceptable, but for me needs to go below 50 as a starting point.
