Good to know that you are getting some help Sam.
Best wishes

Hoping you are getting all the help you need. You will feel do much better soon. I remember my husband saying it was like getting his wife back when I started on insulin.

Have they done blood tests to establish whether you are Type 1 or 2?

Type 1 or LADA seems more likely with high ketones this close to diagnosis as I understand it.

They have done detailed tests which take a week to come back
Good to hear you are feeling better Sam and that you took the advice given here - well done and take care x

If the result come back as LADA or T1, I believe the current NICE guidelines would be to start on a basal/bolus MDI regime of insulin, rather than mixed - so you might want to ask about that, as MDI is a much more flexible way of taking insulin.
