Will be on insulin twice a day along with metformin
Have been given a blood glucose checker which can also check ketones if I feel ill again

If the result come back as LADA or T1, I believe the current NICE guidelines would be to start on a basal/bolus MDI regime of insulin, rather than mixed - so you might want to ask about that, as MDI is a much more flexible way of taking insulin.
