Hi folks
back on 21st October, 2021 I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I immediately started diet and exercise. I was taken off metformin after 1 week. I have lost over 2 stone but was not heavy to being with. On diagnosis my a1c (if that's the correct term) was 115. After 4 weeks it came down to 85 and on 22nd December, 2021 it is now 55 and that's without any medication. On 16th December 2021 my GP practise confirmed again it was type 2 and then the next day I received a call from my Dr to say no its actually type 1 and was referred to the hospital. Having attended the hospital on 22nd December 2021 I certainly felt more reassured and was told they don't know which type it is as I present symptoms of both type 1 and type 2 and the consultant said its more likely 1.5 (LADA) or then again it could be MODY. I am not on any medication for now and just being monitored. The initial shock of type 2 was bad enough however the second shock has come much more of a blow. Anyone else having the same experience?
