I can really sympathise with the mental aspect. I have struggled quite badly. Glad you enjoyed your meal and were pleased with your nighttime BG. My diet is so strict that I don’t spike too much, mornings are always a struggle, my fasting is really good, usually mid 4’s -5 but the second I move about I get a spike only to about 7 but that’s without food, if I ate, even a mouthful I will go much higher. I stay in range between 4-7.8 virtually 100% of the day this has not always been the case, just over the last few months, but as I’ve said I’m very restrictive, I’m not really sure mine is the best approach, can’t see it being something sustainable but for now its how I feel most comfortable
Yeah I know how you feel and you have to come to work and appear to function as normal and I don't know about you but it has left me with absolutely no energy whatsoever. My employers are really good and recognise the need for less stress and have kept the pressure off which I am really thankful for.

I am amazed at your readings. They are really really good practically normal!!!!! Well done you. I seem to wake every morning at 5am. One morning I did a reading at that stage and it was 5.7 the lowest I ever had. As you say the min I get up and come down stairs its in the 6s and if I wake at that time and lie on in bed it can be up as high as 7.8 so for me its probably getting up and eating asap is the way forward. Also I understand about the diet. I may be in denial but I think if i get the Hbac1 repeated now next week and the results are good I would relax the diet a bit. Like you for now I feel it is working and I am happy with that but its the how long can it go on for with such a restrictive diet. Also I have found that stress being tired and general unhappiness and being on my own a lot was putting the readings up so I am working hard at changing all those things - but its not always easy.

You seem to be doing so well. Hang in there. Each day I try to be thankful for another day without medication and try to hold onto that.

Oh I hear you about the exhaustion ! With such low carb it can be useful to add some electrolyte drops to water, I’ve only just started doing this but find it’s helping. I have constant brain fog, and minimal effort leaves me drained. I was super fit before diabetes. Its great news that your employer is so supportive, makes a huge difference. Sometimes I feel like the world is going on around me and I’m not really part of it. I struggle with low mood and anxiety almost everyday. I can put a good face on to others but when I’m alone I find it tough. I had a few very rough years leading up to my diagnosis, insomnia and unrelenting stress is one of the only explanations medics have been able to come up with, my cortisol levels were double the norm and they said my body may be stuck in fight or flight mode. I don’t know how much truth there could be in that, so yes, keep a check on your stress levels !!

Thats interesting I've had unrelenting stress since about 2017 and I think I am constantly in flight mode. Like you every day is a struggle with low mood and anxiety it is overwhelming.
