Thanks for all of that. I really don't like cauliflower tbh, but thanks for the suggestion. The thing is I don't normally eat breakfast, I have to be out of the house for work at 7:15am, so it's a difficult one to make extra time for it.
I'm currently not on BP tablets, but that may change over time.
I really hope the weight does come down. It's something I've struggled with all my life.

Many thanks again for your detailed response.
You can use broccoli instead of cauli if you like that.
If you were to have something for breakfast then you would be less likely to snack on high carb foods during the morning.
You could have something ready in the fridge to grab, full fat Greek yoghurt with nuts or berries or hard boiled egg and cheese.
Nature Valley Protein or KIND bars are only 10g carb so quick to grab.
3 mins less in the shower and you would have time.

Thanks. I was thinking of a way of trying to reduce the calorie intake, so that's what made me think of air fryers. Also, my cholesterol was ok on both of my tests, so that is one less thing to worry about.
I had the advice to reduce calories for about 45 years - it never worked for weightloss - made me feel really ill.
When I went back to eating a low carbohydrate diet I would be losing at least a pound a day for several weeks despite eating much more, including fats.

I had the appointment with the nurse today. My HbA1c is 66. It was the general information, together with the foot inspection & referral to eye test. All in all, a good appointment.

Great, 66 isn't that high, so you should be able to beat this just by going low carb.
A potato replacement that I use (as well as cauliflower or broccoli) is celeriac. Otherwise switch to more noodles based dishes and use the bean based noodles (available in most supermarkets) rather than the flour based ones.
I don't know of any low carb real ale, but no need to give up alcohol since spirits are OK (just use a low calorie mixer) as are dry white wine and most (non sweet) red wines.

Another fan of celeriac here.
It’s a scary looking veg but just cut the skin off and cube the white flesh and treat it as you would potatoes. You can roast it, boil it, fry it, make soup and it’s delicious as mash.
