Hi
I was diagnosed type 2 a couple of months ago after 2 or 3 years borderline. I was prescribed Metformin but I'm not happy taking them, a) because of the side effects (although I realise these normally settle down after a while) and b) I want to try dieting my way out of it.
Question is if I try the 5/2 diet, which I like the look of, is it ok to nibble, when peckish, a stick of celery? I've always loved celery so it seems a good way to overcome any pangs.
What do others think? Are there any dangers?
(PS I know there's an old saying that you use more calories eating it than you gain from it, but hmmm.... not sure about that!)
