Just pondering the Newcastle diet as a means of getting back on track, so thanks for posting your question
@Gardener I've looked at the other thread too. I've tried Slimfast in the past and one of the cons with using that for the Newcastle is the very sweet nature of the bars and shakes - my view is that this doesn't help those with a sweet tooth who are trying to cut out sugary things. Perhaps the Tesco and Asda alternatives are less sweet but perhaps not - is the Almased very sweet? And as
@zoombapup mentions, the transition back to normal eating can be problematic. Dr Mosley's 8-week blood sugar diet book may help instead of using shakes, and there is a good cookery book by Dr David Cavan - I've used several recipes from that and they are quick and tasty. I see Prof Taylor has just published a recipe book so I might see what that's like. Good luck!
