So pleased you are OK this morning and levels have come down a little. Was it Ketostix you got to test for ketones that you dip in your urine?
It might be helpful to know that you should be testing for ketones when your levels are persistently above 14, so definitely test now and keep testing every few hours whilst you are that high. Ketones can develop really quickly and become very dangerous. Yes if you are a genuine Type 2 steroid induced or whatever, it is unlikely, but with the additional symptoms you were experiencing last night, you really can't afford to ignore the potential risk. It is much less of a worry now knowing that you have a means of testing for ketones. Any reading above 1 seek medical help.
They really should be increasing your insulin dose to help bring your levels down as it is almost pointless using insulin if you continue to have massively high levels like that so do talk to your nurse or doctor about adjusting the dose and let them know how ill you were feeling and the symptoms you were having.
