Hi SharonHi everyone, have just been diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes on Tues 14 th Feb, lovely Valentine's gift but hey ho life must go on.
Hi Sharon, and welcome. Yes, Metformin has an unfortunate reputation (known by many as Metfartin 😱 ) and the side effects can range from, er, wind to more severe pains. Some people have a slow release version, and I'm sure someone will be along soon to tell you more. I took Metformin for a while but then was able to give it up just over a year ago, as my control by diet & exercise was good.Already I am thinking of questions to ask, how do you find taking Metformin? Does it have a lot of side effects apart from being rather windy which I suppose is a small price to pay ifit works!
