Hi all and thanks for all who replied to my plea for help yesterday. I have a telephone consultation with my GP later today and have taken your advice and looked at the various links you advised and feel better armed to ask the appropriate questions. It's just all very daunting when I believe I am eating what I should be eating but as yet my readings aren't significantly coming down. I've never been overweight but have recently lost 2 stones, down to 11st 7lbs. All symptoms started when I quit smoking approx 1.5 months ago. I took tablets to help me do this which had a list of side effects the length of your arm, some of which were the dry mouth, unquenchable thirst etc etc. I put it down to this. I was eventually persuaded to get the free diabetes test at the chemists. My pharmacist's eyes almost popped out her head with the 32.5 reading. The 25.9 reading was taken about an hour after a breakfast of weetabix and skimmed milk and taking my tablets. The GP has already doubled my original dosage. Thanks again for your help. I'll definately be reading all your advice from now on.
