Hi Sargejust got the news from my gp, that i have diabetes
Many people find it overwhelming to start with but it is very much a condition that with the right dietary regime is very manageable. Your HbA1C result will tell you how far into the diabetic zone you are and therefore how much work you need to do to bring the level down to normal. 48mmol/mol is the threshold of giving you a diagnosis. It will be Type 2 from clinical symptoms rather than any of the blood tests you will have had.i had a telephone consultation with my GP at 11 30 today it is type 2 diabetes, too much to take in all at once. Anyway he has started me on metformin once a day, and i have to make an appointment with the nurse to discuss the situation and give urine samples to check my Kidney function. All a bit overwhelming and I haven,t quite taken it all in at the moment.
