Hi - she was diagnosed 3 weeks ago now. A few days after I saw the article in the press about possible link with T1D and Coronavirus - time will tell I’m sure!Welcome to the forum @Cous25
Sorry to hear about your daughter’s diagnosis. You are both bound to be knocked a bit sideways to begin with, and it can feel a bit overwhemling and mind boggling in the early months, but it will soon all become second nature.
Hope the start back to school goes well - was your daughter diagnosed during the coronavirus hoohah? Hope she gets good support from the school, teachers and her peers.
Is she on pens or a pump? Does she have any snazzy gadgets like a Libre sensor to wave around and distract attention?
Oh it helps so much if you have a good medical team, I don’t know what I’d have done without ours in the beginning. They didn’t seem to mind how often I got in touch asking questions!Hi - she was diagnosed 3 weeks ago and yes it’s still a bit overwhelming at the moment. The NHS and local Diabetic team at the hospital have been amazing and we have a Care Plan already. Back to school this week!
