WhT happens if you refuse medication?
Then you don’t take medication, no one will force you to take it. Then you either need to make more effort with diet and exercise to manage bgs or if that isn’t enough (not everyone is able to produce enough insulin regardless of how little they eat or how much they exercise) then you continue to have high bgs and all the short and long term complications that come with it. Eventually you die a long unpleasant death from either the high bgs or the complications from them.

ill wait until my appointmemt in two weeks time to fret over meds.
Ive got to really think about this hard. No cream but i have started bad with one coffee and milk. . Just got to work out whAt to have for breakfast. I dont think i want to do the diet online as you say its high carb but then again for a start it might be a good one to try then tweek it.

There’s nothing bad about a coffee with milk
what do you do, I guess that's unfair you might not have a weight issue. See food is so hard. i love my coffee in the morning. i might buy cram but it used to be a luxury and my cholesterol although in the green is on the high side. Yes low carb works but i think this was the tug of war last time. Cream is fattening and a luxury so i can have it but hubby also says no fad diet. I don't buy loads of crisps biscuits cakes etc or fizzy drinks so i don’t save on those. I am not a chocolate lover and that's usually only if someone buys a box . we don't have loads of take aways either. i admit i like my salad cream and sauces. i eat a lot of dairy . i have yoghurt most days . i like cheese . i do eat rice pasta and potatoes i hated having cauliflower rice zucchini snd celeriac instesd but ill have to go back to thrm . It will not be long before the zucchini are ready in the garden. So ill live on ghat again Courgette parma'san is s favourite to us both. We love hairy bikers salmon snd cabbage i do not think that is bad. we have s lot of Quiche and salad and i have bern known to eat pastry which is. i do make frittatas but with friends snd out there is pastry usually even on crustless.
Yes a few tweaks but nothing that i think would double my HbA1c . All i can say is arthritis must hide all the other symptoms of diabetes as i don't know i have it.

I am fine with 1 slice of toast so for breakfast will have either boiled egg, scrambled egg, cheese on toast with a poached egg, creamy mushrooms (cooked mushrooms with a spoon of Philadelphia stirred in), I do have bacon sometimes but you don't eat meat or full fat Greek yoghurt with berries and about 20g of a low sugar granola or all bran scattered on top.
If you make an attempt at estimating how many carbs you are now having, keep a food diary then you can reduce what you are having gradually but say a third for a week then another third etc.
Ask for a monitor when you have your appointment, if they say no then think hard about buying one yourself to check what foods you can tolerate.

I would stick with one monitor, make sure your strips are in date, make sure you have washed you hands.
A fasting reading of 16mmol/l would not be too out of the way if your HbA1C is over a 100mmol/mol.
I should get some urine test strips for ketones so if your blood glucose is in the high teens or more you can check as the combination of high blood glucose and ketone can be dangerous needing urgent medical attention.

Thanks I know that they took a urine sample but not came back . I am okay id know if really ill. I wonder if the heat has made it worse.
Anyway ill wait and see how i go. I did use the phone number and the guy i spoke to was a great sounding board . it is good to sort a bit of my thoughts out.
ill use this as a warning i'm at least in the orange zone and at the low end do a long way out of danger. Just took it now its 17 again . i was on phone so not two exactly so i guess waiting for lunch .

I am trying to lose weight. A coffee with skimmed milk is 16 calories and 1.9g carb, in no way is that bad for anyone

I am not at pay day so having what i have in house
i do not like meat. i usually have peas sweetcorn carrots and i did have a few potatoes but alas life is all food focussed. All diet books low carb are meat. i guess if i get hungry ill have to eat it.

No need to eat meat if you don't like it, Quorn, Tofu, are alternatives, Cauldron veggie sausages are low carb.
Did you look at the low carb veggie meals link I posted before.
You could just have the veggies with grated cheese and not bother with the lamb chop.
Don't force yourself to eat things you don't like, the way you address this has to be bearable if not enjoyable.

ill search for it. Ive been told cheese and dairy are still high in sugars which is what i have too much off. love dairy

NO 25g cheddar cheese 0g carbs,
its not just about sugars as in carb sugars but its the cholesterol too I am arthritic do its probably more to do with that. I'm nos thinking all food is a problem .

There is some evidence that reducing carbohydrates lowers cholesterol and people who do that also results in lower cholesterol.
The high blood glucose resulting in having too much carbohydrate is likely to do more damage than the potential of increasing cholesterol from eating a sensible portion of cheese, there are some cheeses that are suggested as being better. Do a bit of research and you will see a few suggested ones, feta, mozzarella and a few others.

I think you are making it far too difficult for yourself and getting confused and losing focus.

Your HbA1c is very high and that is a problem, so just focus on lowering your carbs to improve that, if that is your chosen option...... or try the Newcastle/Fast 800 shakes based diet if you want to focus on Calories...... but worrying about carbs and calories and cholesterol all at once is too much, so focus on one of those 3 and ignore the rest. From what you say, your cholesterol isn't high, so don't worry about it. Your HbA1c is high so just deal with that. Keep it simple. I have a coffee with real double cream every morning because that is one of the little luxuries that make up for the things I have had to stop eating, like bread and potatoes. I really enjoy that coffee and I enjoy every morsel of the cheese I eat each day with half an apple....I vary the cheese to make it interesting. My cholesterol has not gone up but in fact come down since I reduced my carbs and started eating more fat..... not that I think about it much.

That is total nonsense - but some people will try to put across their doctrine by lying and often seem to have no idea that they are doing so until challenged, and then they lie and lie, tell you you are the one in the wrong and to go away and check your facts - you get the idea.
I had high carb forced on me for almost half a century but these days I don't back down.
A low carb diet with natural fats often results in reduced cholesterol and less body fat too. Also reduction in inflammation - weirdly no longer getting sunburn. All sorts of seemingly unconnected problems are associated with the modern 'healthy' diet low fat, low calorie, high carb and feeling very old and unwell.

a bot like chick peas are good for you. They are 67% carbs . Yes its too complex. Obviously got those that can .

like milk is bad and cheese is nade from milk now milk is oksy and cheese is okay but i guess the cornflour is what makes cauliflour cheese bad.
