Hello everyone
I'm back on to ask questions........
Does anyone know or have any experience of neuropathy? The reason I ask is that I've been having problems (in how I was 'feeling') from about a year after being diagnosed with type 1 in February 2009 and it is only this past few weeks that I've realised that another way for me to describe these 'feelings' is numbness and tingling throughout my whole body. The past week this has been fairly constant in my toes and sometimes fingers and is always much worse at night.
What confused me more was that I've been constantly told by professionals that my control is good and I was under the impression that neuropathy occurs when control is not so good and for someone who has had diabetes for over 20 years.
I went to see my GP yesterday with said symptoms, also have joint ache in my fingers and she was really good, tested my feet, have good pulses and passed the 'prick' test. Have to have bloods taken and maybe further tests, but she has put ?neuropathy on the blood form.
Can anyone please shed some light onto this as on one hand I feel relieved to know that I wasn't going mad talking about these 'feelings' I keep having and on the other scared of the consequences of developing neuropathy.
Thanks
