My Type 2 journey

I find eating fruit keeps my sweet craving away, although high in carbs is fruit better than biscuits ?
I find cake better than some fruit as the fat in the cake slows the carbs down. You could try some lower carb baking. Fruit is probably a bit healthier though.

I also eat plenty of Avocado

So is potassium a salt based substance? A mine field again as I'm not to be on salt due to blood pressure and previous stroke

Not flipping easy to take this all in

High potassium foods but low carb , spinach, kale, cucumber, courgette, aubergine, pumpkin, carrots, green beans, peas. Much lower carb than bananas.
Everybody needs salt just not too much salt, needed for electrolyte balance.

Usually the concern with salt is with the sodium in sodium chloride. Potassium chloride is a possible alternative (I think commonly in some mixture with sodium chloride because I suspect they taste a bit different?). I don't think it's always a salt in our diet. (Like sodium, I think it's rather chemically active in raw form so it's always going to be in a compound of some sort.)

I started following a Type 2 fella on Instagram that reckons he can do wonders to getting you on the right track to a healthy lifestyle. Turn out he wants a tonne of money to do you a personal plan.

What do you reckon on people trying to make money out of others bad fortune for want of a better word

There is always someone who will exploit a situation to make money but also people who fall for it.

i try to eat foods from the green list from fresh well low carbs , this helps to re duce glucose levels try to stick to mainly green items on the list or now and again a few item on amber and try to limit anything in red , anyway thats a good start if you want to take a look https://www.lowcarbfreshwell.com/documents/8/Freshwell_Red_Amber_Green.pdf
That is quite a good summery of foods on which to base your own 'meal plans' if you don't want to wade through the whole Freshwell program but the introduction is still worth reading.

Some of them daily meal plans sound very nice

I've always been a good meat and veg eater, I could eat eggs and cheese every day of the week so I'm easy to please

I like the sound of that coconut rice, now is that coconut flavoured rice or is it rice made from coconut, anyone know?

The very reason I don't follow people on social media platforms.

tbh a good place to start is by reading and researching as much as you can , try to limit added sugar where ever possible by checking ingredients on foods that you consume during the day , try to make small changes like adding more fibre and veg to meals limit starchy food me personally i try to follow a whole food plant based diet as much as i can but everyone's diet is different anyway good luck on your journey hope you find some good info to help you manage this condition it can get a bit overwhelming at first and there so much to take in . Another member summed up type two very well and i find her an inspiration on my own journey please take the time too read this post that she put up a while back https://forum.diabetes.org.uk/boards/threads/tips-i-have-for-fellow-type-2-newbies.116061/ all the best mate have a good day
