My eyes are more blurred now??

just a story

in Balance a long time ago was a story by a young girl (18) (type one)
she would get up in the morning stand at the window and count the lamposts
then she would select the pair of glasses with that number on, put them on
then count the lamposts again if the number was more she would then
select her clothes for the day to go with the colour of that pair of glasses

I thought that was the best explanation of being diabetic I had ever heard

hmmmm...I think somewhere in these results may lie the answer.

This morning fasting bs was 6.5, got ready and drove to work with just a decaff coffee so half hour later was 3.7, had my 25g scotts porridge with skimmed milk (no sugar) and after 1/2 hr was 9.9 and now 1 hr later am 11.2

Incidentally the eyes blurred straight after eating the porridge! Does this mean porridge is off the menu now - if so such a shame as it stops me being hungry.

I also don't understand why the bs are swinging about so rapidly. I am also concerned that I didn't feel hypo at all on my 3.7 and my numbers did improve very quickly when I ate the porridge. Could any of this be due to the metformin?

So confused...and blurred again!
The eyes are often the first organ in our body affected by BG variations.

Two things stand out to me in your post. First, don't buy any expensive specs until your blood glucose levels get back closer to normal. Your prescription may be different when you stabilise. If necessary, buy some of the cheap "second pair" glasses from the chemist as a temporary measure.

Second, you need to review your menu. That breakfast is killing you, literally. Please read this and consider applying it: (click on it): Test, Review, Adjust

Use one hour as your test timing.

I have changed my breakfast this morning - slice ham, babybel light cheese, low fat yoghurt. I will test and see if this is any better in an hour. Fasting was 6.4 this morning.🙂
