Our GP Practice has bought into this and I am aware that this has already been used in Scotland. I am interested to know if anyone in here has used it and in what way.

A moderator on my other D forum has it and loves it - he's been T1 from childhood and now pumping. It certainly gives you all your test results pdq and I believe you might be able to communicate directly with your D team with it - does @mikeyB know?

I have used it and it gives information, loads up your diabetes results, cholesterol, kidney function medicication. My biggest problem is I forget my password. Great site and you can digest your results before your review

I used it when I lived in Scotland. Often got my HbA1c result at the same time as the surgery, plus all the renal stuff and cholesterol. Not exactly earth shattering, but nice enough graphs. As Carol says, it sends you ready with excuses for your next review....😉

I should add, in Scotland my medical records could be accessed by any hospital I went to. I suspect that might apply to any GP, too, but never tested it. Sure is more integrated than NHS England, but then I think NHS England communicates with two yogurt cartons and a piece of string.

Thanks Carlog
We are able to access all the data from emis, but the hyperlinks that are included may be useful, especially for newly diagnosed.

did you know you can do a conference call with three cups and string. I was amazed that it worked!!

Pity its not rolled out across the UK, Patient Access is a waste of time.
It is currently being developed across other CCGs in England. I am trying it out for ours and giving feedback to the developers. You could ask at your practice and see if they are doing the same. From what I have seen so far it gathers everything together about your diabetes in one place, and also provides hyperlinks to resources that can be of use for specific aspects.

I'd love to be able to access my history, it all begins to blur after a while. Also, I tend to forget my blood results almost as soon as I hear them, and some are probably not volunteered anyway by the consultants/doctors at reviews. I have no idea, for example, whether I was ever tested for thyroid function prior to moving to Harrogate, it was certainly never mentioned but maybe that's because the numbers were normal until recently.

Have you got access to emis patient access. I am able to look at all my historic results in there. Similar to my Diabetes My Way but covering everything. I had to ask the Practice for the additional access as it is at their discretion. I can look at all tests as a list or as graphs. It was quite interesting looking at HbA1c historically as it was easy for me to spot when I got my pump, and then when I started to use the Libre.

This system went back to earlier results before I joined emis.

No, I have virtually nothing, just appointments, allergies and repeat prescriptions, same as when I was in Southampton 🙄

That is the basic access but I was told you can ask for further access to your medical records. I filled in a form and then it was checked by my GP and that was it. Sorted. Worth a try.

That would be so good, fingers crossed all CCGs will get on board.

Same here, complete waste of time, only use it now for repeat prescriptions.

GP surgeries can choose not to allow access to all services that are available on the online systems.

Not offered by surgery, but you can register an interest, which I have done 🙂

i have used it for the past year and i find it very helpfull ie.i can see all my results medication and my health in general

I use it all the time, we were lucky enough that it was also launched as an app a few months ago so I downloaded it on my Samsung as soon as it was available 🙂 xx

Our GP surgery uses My Health Online which used to be called Vision Online Services. For yonks it was only appointments and repeat scrips, because they said it would take a while to get all patients this that and the other onto the system. Well so it did - but now we have the lot.

You don't get any handy links to eg DUK for diabetes or BHF if you've got heart trouble - but you can find out in a quite detailed enough way, why the doc thought he'd do this that or the other test cos it may be a sign of x,y or z, then tells you what it will be measuring in the blood, wee, tissue sample, then tells you what the normal reading of that is sposed to be, and what higher or lower results could be a sign of.

There's absolutely no info about referrals beyond the surgery door whatever it might be about - and you can't sort the results if you wanted to know eg all your last 7 TSH tests - they are sorted only by date and just show every test they did that day.
