Another doctor came by today, and said the aim was to clear the infection and heal the wounds. I then asked if 9-week bed sore was included in this
Disappointing week as after sitting out and doing half a physio session I have had nothing since. Yesterday I was told I would have physio in a while and more today. They need a plan and to stick with it!
Don't be disappointed Mikey, everything will go smoothly, Also i would suggest if you don't like the "Plan" you can as well let them know or ask them to revise the plan with you, i think that's allowed
Mmmm - do most hospital doctors and/or nurses care for the same people for long enough a a time, to get to know side effects? You come out of hosp with new drugs, your GP carries on prescribing them, if you have side effects you go to the GP, not back to the ward you were on in hospital X weeks ago.
Hi Mikey, I hope you had another physio session today after your earlier post. It can't be doing your bed sore much good having to lie in bed for such a long time.
How are you getting on with the current antibiotics?
Lots of hugs and best wishes to get you better as soon as possible
I've not been on the forums much, but had a catch up now and again.
You have been in my thoughts, I just hope that the hospital can get their act together soon and sort you out properly. IMO the sooner you are well enough to get out of there the better
It not turn out that another sideeffect with the antibiotic that caused the UTI is lowering of Calcium levels. You have guessed it MikeyBikey has reduced levels. That's what the huge chew only tablet was about. I am now on a dissolvable version. While I was had the doctor's ear
I raised the issue of the UTI, bed sore (9 week's in), not getting into a chair/wheelchair often and lack physio! No particularly clear answers. However, they got me into my. wheelchair this , afternoon but it was only for 45 minutes as the effects of the laxative came in quickly. I miss just being able to go! Fortunately no.accidents. That reminds me of another njggle caused by medication and poor food!
Today I had some bad news. They ,may have to amputate the long toe and the middle toe!
Also they were not treating the right infection - four months to.finf this out!
Really shocked and disappointed to hear this Mikey. Hope they can still be saved and you have some sort of miracle turn around in your fortunes and care. It certainly seems to have been very sub par up to now. Sending big (((HUGS))) You must be incredibly worried.
Hi Mikey,
So sorry to hear your news and he way you have been treated.
Sending you a big virtual hug and just wish there was something we could do to make the situation better.
Will pray for you and send you very best wishes
So sorry to hear your news Mikey. I really hope that they can save your toes after everything you have been through. My heart goes out to you.
Keeping my fingers crossed that any surgery is minimal and the hospital can clear the infection. Sending hugs and love Wish I could do more than just offer moral support.
Sorry to hear your news, I hope it will not some to what you fear. I does seem pretty fundamental to get the correct antibiotic to treat infections and with the array of those available shouldn't be difficult to do the testing to find the right one or right cocktail.
