Thanks for the reply yes my first pump been waiting for quite a while lol no unfortunately will not be using smart guard just yet waiting on funding for that I sure I will be annoying your head with question in the very near future xxxxHi Vickie
Great to hear that you will be going live on your 780 next Monday. Is this your first pump?
Are you going to be using it with the Guardian sensors and then Smart Guard (their closed loop system)?
It is understandable to be nervous of the switch over. I still remember that moment of connecting my first pump. Whatever pump you are using it gives you the chance to match your basal insulin (which is a dribble of the quick acting insulin throughout the day and night) to what you actually need hour by hour. This all takes a bit of work and trial and improvement but it is well worth it. Have you set aside some time for yourself to get used to it all.
I have been using my 780 for 18 months now along with self funded sensors. This enables me to use the closed loop system where the pump makes adjustment to my basal insulin every 5 minutes. I do a lot less thinking about my diabetes.
Whatever questions you have, just ask. Happy to help out.
Starting to feel a little anxious now just over 12 hrs to go before I go live xxx
Good luck! Excellent that you're getting that support from your clinic.Well that me on the pump very anxious day was shaking putting the first cannula in lots of tests and phone call visit to clinic over the next few weeks xxxx
