Medtronic or Omnipod ?

My experience kit arived today - going to try it over the weekend. First impression is that the pod is a bit heavier than I expected but we'll see.

Hello.
I'm using an omnipod Dash using Diasend to store and send all my Diabetic results to my diabetic nurse. Similarly I run Free style libra sensor linked to my phone also talking to my nurse supplying very similar info.
I use both to keep a close eye on my results.
I tend to favour the Libre as it talks directly to the phone/pc unlike the dash which needs me to use the charge lead to connect to my pc for downloads.
But that's not really a problem as my nurse only wants the pump info it shows about once a month. They both show the same diabetic info but the Dash also shows all the pump settings in addition.
I have no problems in wearing the pod but I would recommend getting some adhesive release spray as the pod sticks like BS to a blanket whereas after the spray release has been applied it takes about 10 - 20 sec to release, magic.

I favour using my thighs and I have no problem with them getting in the way or snagging. I soon learnt to cup my hand over it when removing clothes.
I wish the pods lasted longer than 3 days but apart from that I'm well happy.

Best

Thanks

Omnipod didn't feel heavy once it was on my arm and I actually forgot it was there so that was good. Then a weekend of gardening with lots of digging and getting stuck into the bushes in the garden and I didn't knock or snag it once.

Not sure the trial could have gone any better so I've advised my consultant that I'd like to switch, though I must admit I'll miss the Medtronic customer service which is excellent.

What a relief to have made a decision. It seems such a big things to do every four years, but that time will go so quickly and there are so many changes happening at present. I am sure that Omnipod support will be just as good.

Hope it goes really well for you @Ref

Let us know how it goes 🙂

That was the tricky bit - knowing I was stuck with my decision for 4 years. Decision made, move forward.
