Has anyone used lupin flour? Do you think it's good for us? Holland and Barrett has chilled bread which has only 1.5g carbs. Would you recommend that?

Somebody posted about using lupin flour to make pasta I think.
I don't remember anyone mentioning H &B chilled bread, but 1.5g carb per slice sounds pretty good if it tastes OK.

I ate a few times. Problems is it's not available when you need. Since it's chilled cannot order online. First come first served they told

Wouldn’t be without it. Highly nutritious, I make pasta, Yorkshire puddings, pie crust, cheese scones and tortilla chips with it.
Good fibre, protein and a tiny amount of carbs.

Is regularly on offer in Morrisons, sometimes H and B.

When i used it it tasted quite vile. Perhaps i got a iffy batch.
Coconut flour and almond flour were the better ones to my mind. About from the fat content

That's what I am worried about. Fat content. I fear that I will get another issue eating too much fats?????

Fats if 'healthy fats' should be no problem especially if you are cutting carbs, dietary fats do not convert to glucose or cholesterol.

I think that lupin flour is gluten free so adding gluten would help with the rise.
Gluten is protein, so not going to add to the carb load.

I've been experimenting with buckwheat flour recently. I make a French style pancake called a Gallette with some grated cheese, a slice of ham and an egg on top. I don't think the carbs in the flour are lower than wheat but it seems to agree with me more in terms of BS. Also, I can't eat more than one which is half my battle. Good luck with your journey

Haven't tried buckwheat as thought it would be too high in carbs. Could test against it to see if it suits me as it obviously does suit some people.
