Ladies gents Whats in your handbag/man bag?

I rarely take a bag, but my pockets are usually STUFFED. With extra supplies/options in coat/jacket when the weather is cooler.

When I transitioned to a pump, I was advised to take a syringe with me in case the pump failed.
You can use the syringe to get the insulin out of most pumps and inject for a few hours. This has only happened a couple of times to me in 8 years and I did need to inject every 30 minutes to include the basal but it took up far less space than a full infusion set.
Unfortunately, I cannot siphon insulin out of my current pump so I also need to remember to carry an insulin vial.
When I am out for longer than half a day, I also take a spare equivalent of infusion set - a pump patch. Thankfully, this too is small for my pump.

I think it’s to the safe deposit box in the Swiss bank that contains maybe a few faberge eggs and a lost DaVinci masterpiece.

But it might be to an old suitcase that got thrown away decades ago but the key I just don’t ever think I can part with for some reason.

Unless I'm going somewhere I won't be able to find food (just the normal kind, because I'll be hungry at some point, not emergency snacks) or I've got my children with me (in which case they will definitely want something to eat), I don't take a bag, I just stick an emergency pack of skittles in a pocket along with keys, wallet, some needles and Novorapid pen.

Conversely if I'm riding my bike I take enough food to support me for a fortnight, or at least it feels that way. I usually don't need to eat much of it, but it's much more relaxing to have it and not need it than vice versa.

Sounds like you might want to get a radar key to keep in there too? They’re handy to have.
 
Non work bag has

Diabetes stuff
Painkillers
Tiger balm
Noise cancelling Bluetooth earbuds
Earplugs in case headphones die
Battery pack in case phone or headphones die
House keys
Radar toilet key
Bus pass
If I’m going far then purse but usually leave that at home
Fidget toy
Spare hair bobble
150ml soft water bottle or a 500ml solid one if going far

Work bag adds work headset, laptop, lunch, coffee cup, ID badge, and swaps the water bottle for a solid 500ml one
 
One thing I really do like to carry is a pen. It’s amazing the number of times having one in a pocket has been extremely handy. I’ve had a number of different stubby ones over the years - and my current one also has a little jewellers screwdriver bit in the end. I’ll NEVER use it, but it does make me smile to think of it being there in a sort of James Bond gadget way :D
 
If you wore glasses you'd absolutely need that screwdriver at times! - though I must admit, either I'm gentler with my specs or they already superglue the screws in before I get them. I had a double ended one on my keyring back in the day and became the person the go to for a teeny screwdriver for approx 150 staff.
However Pete had to sit down suddenly a few weeks back and sat on his glasses, oo-er - popped both lenses out, but they both went back in again OK as it happens.
 
I don't have a man bag, but if out for the day I'll sometime have a small rucksack.
When out and about I like to carry the bare minimum, so house keys, car keys, wallet and thats it!
In the rucksack I will have maybe have a lightweight jacket, a small brolly, a camera, sometimes, food/snacks, a bottle of water.

Firstly let me point out that I'm a man
For years I thought that a handbag was an excellent and practical idea

As I got older Man Bags became more popular & acceptable and also I needed to carry more & more junk around with me, so I eventually bought one -
I think it was originally for carrying around some kind of Laptop or small computer thingy.
It was in a sale as I suspect the technology or fashion for that particular species of computer had changed
Whatever it was originally it is jolly useful!
I's a suitably discrete dark grey - brown colour; big enough for 35 X 24 cm card folders, and two compartments
I use one for permanent stuff and one for particular stuff or a bit of light shopping on my travels

Permanent stuff includes -
Pen; pencil; diary; a couple of choccy/chewy/biscuit bars; a packet of Polo mints
A face mask as some places still prefer them
My Asthma Inhaler
Reading glasses
My mobile phone when I'm out & about ...... if I remember
There would be a penknife if I didn't already have a key ring knife
If I go on a longer bus journey I take a water bottle

At the moment Particular Stuff is-
Notices, leaflets, bigger notebook as I'm helping to start a Men's Shed in the town. If you haven't heard of them, Search t'Net & YT

One of my hobbies is knife making - I buy the bare blades and fit my own handles - so sometimes I take a few examples of completed blades, materials etc to show people

From that I've learned leatherwork so sometimes I take a few examples, tools, & & materials for that

Books to & from the library

Ok, here goes,
Book, tissues, purse, diary, phone, charger, purse, hard boiled egg, pens, pencils, oyster card, id lanyard, small water bottle, notepad, hand sanitiser, hand cream... no wonder the damn thing is so heavy. Obviously if I removed something from the bag my life would be intolerable.
