Hi everyone, I've been AWOL for a while but I'll be popping in now and again.

I think I got disillusioned with contrary advice about what to eat & what not to eat. Anyway I've done my own thing and lost over 6kg during lockdown. I restricted but did not cut out carbs and I went fairly but not extremely low fat, still had a few drinkies but was strict about our meal times too.

Anyway I'm sure I'll still pick up some hints & tips from you all.

Missed seeing your posts! Hope your keeping well!
xx

Yes thanks. Are you well?
not doing the greatest to be honest, OCD and anxiety running riot giving the current situation so haven't left the house since March :( xx

:( Sorry to hear that, but you're not alone.

I don't visit supermarkets any more, just our local Spar which has sorted the store brilliantly. I was furloughed for 3 months and was made redundant on 3rd July. We have been out in the motorhome but we can isolate very easily in it but with a change of scenery 🙂

That's nice - I saw elsewhere you'd been out and about - we're both in the extremely vulnerable group so last time we actually went anywhere which was Tesco LOL (exciting lives we have) was 12th March and same as I asked in that elsewhere we know each other virtually too - I'll ask you to remind me if a motorhome is that big white thing that's sitting outside our bedroom window, SORNED from 1st April for which the refund cheque is still in the brown envelope on the coffee table. Hoping we'll be able to visit a bank to pay it in - and get some stamps to send out shedloads of things we need to post - soon.

Are you testing your blood glucose before and after meals? - the most effective way of finding out whether what you are eating is OK for your body. If the difference between the two is more than 3 - it usually isn't OK !

@trophywench I've only recently got a testing kit so have started, got to get in the habit though LOL. I should have seen the nurse last week (roughly) for 3 month check but not heard from them, I'll have to give them a call and see what's happening but my HbA1C was down at last test.

Will you be venturing out next week? Scary isn't it.

Yes, the big white thing will be your MH - hopefully you can get it out soon. We've been to CLs or C&MC sites, taken all our supplies and used our own facilities so able to SD easily.

Yes we certainly are going to venture out - I'm sick of our house and Zoom meetings!

Welcome back @scousebird

Sounds like you’ve made great progress, and found a way that works for you.

Well done on the weight loss and HbA1c drop 🙂
