Hi, 3 months ago I was advised my HbA1c was 49 & I had type 2 diabetes. Like many I was shocked, horrified and ashamed ( of my eating habits, inactive lifestyle etc). Luckily for me I came upon this forum and took advice to buy a bg meter and test at the prerequisite intervals. I cut out all junk food, alcohol & ate lower carb, normal fat. Nothing with added sugar. Went on daily brisk walks come rain or shine (mostly rain). Weight loss stands at 2 stone 9 & ongoing. GP phoned today with 3 month update on HbA1c...so low it's not on the scale....26. Obviously I'm thrilled at the massive reduction. Was told to eat more but I'm not doing without or hungry. It's an ongoing way of life for me. Now I need you to tell me what's a healthy range please and what to do differently? I'm so pleased with this result. GP also v pleased & suggested a 6 month review. Thank you all so much for helping me!
