I was diagnosed in March 2004 after going to the doctor about an unrelated matter.
He said he wanted to do some tests.
A few days later I got a phone call from my surgery asking me to come in and see my doctor as some of the tests I'd had, had come back positive.
So I went to the doctor and he told me that I was diabetic.
When I think back, I had been having alot of the symptoms associated with diabetes for a couple of years before my diagnosis but didn't realise the significance of them as I knew nothing about diabetes then.
