Horticulture.

I just needed a snack for tea today so I made some cheese and onion toasties using an onion from the garden. It was really tasty, probably as it was so fresh. The onions were grown from onion sets which are like the gardening equivalent of microwaving a ready meal. Plant small onions, wait for them to get bigger, then dig them up again.

I always use sets as I have no success with the seeds even for spring onions so use for them as well and pull when the right size for a spring onion./

Things are progressing a bit now. We have a little trickle of strawberries, just a few every day. The soil in our garden isn't suitable for growing carrots so we have to grow them in tubs.

The red chillies are appearing although they are still green at the moment.

This is our first year growing carrots in this garden. I don't think they will look as good as yours. As long as they are edible I don't mind if they are wonky.
