Since reducing my Tresiba to 4 units everything seems to be a bit more stable and I am actually experiencing small spikes after meals now, I usually have wholemeal toasted for breakfast, yesterday I went from 5.9 pre breakfast to 7.9 2 hours post, this morning I didn't bother toasting it ( not even because I couldn't be bothered, I LOVE soft bread and this loaf was so fresh and soft there was no way I was going to miss out on a couple of slices of really soft bread! Haha) anyway pre breakfast was 5.2, 2 hours post was 7.9, now I know it could have been out by a bit but does anyone else react differently to a slice of bread than when its been toasted? Generally just curious haha x

At what point do you do your insulin? Just wondering, if you did it before you stick the bread in the toaster, whether the extra few minutes waiting for it to pop lets the insulin get going.
(If you don't inject til after its popped, ignore that, and I've no idea!)

I wait the same amount of time each morning as I set an alarm on my phone after I've jabbed so its not that lol x

Never really noticed a difference personally. If it was me I'd probably just put it down to slightly different sized slices. Mix of bread ingredients? I don't suppose every single slice in a loaf is exactly the same. Maybe you did something slightly different without noticing, hormones.....who knows? Just quick thoughts. Not much help I'm afraid.🙂

I think toasting gets rid of a small amount of the carbs or something?

I always put far more butter on toast than on bread, and I think fat slows down the absorption of carbs?

I know people might think its sad but I actually weigh my bread so I know it was the same weight as I had yesterday haha x

Used the same amount of butter too haha as its usually a sandwich popped into a toaster bag I usually have so has to be buttered first x
