It will take time to get things settled, and to adjust your insulin doses to suit your needs.
I too am surprised that you are already back at work and hope that this does not involve driving to/from or as part of your work. You will be able to drive but need to have levels sorted beforehand.
What insulins are you on. You will normally be put on two different ones:
basal - background to deal with the glucose released from your liver to keep you ticking over)
bolus - quick acting to deal with the glucose from the carbohydrates in your meals.
it is a lot to take in at the start but , like learning to drive, it soon becomes automatic.
