- Relationship to Diabetes
- Type 1
Hi everyone - Just joined the forum and thought I'd introduce myself as per the lovely welcome message I got.
I've had diabetes since 1977 (I was 2) and basically lived with it my whole life. On an insulin pump (Medtronic) and freestyle libre (awesome piece of kit!!)
Suffered all of the different treatments (incliding the needles which seemed and felt 3" long back in the late 70s! One of my earliest memories sadly!!) but finally found the one that suits me best.
Never used my diabetes as an excuse - always involved in sports and healthy activities and am a very keen runner (trying to get into the London Marathon next year!!)
Diabetes does not define me and I will not let it impact my life.
