Hi,
Note: surname spelt wrognly should say Bonner! trying to change this 🙂
i was diagnosed last June with Type 2 my HB1Ac was 79, i was put onto Metformin 500mg twice a day these made me very very ill, Doc then put me on slow release and i managed to handle these better........this was all a shock to me initially, I went low carb diet route and in Nov 2017 my HB1Ac was 49 i was pretty dammed pleased with this, since then I have gotten my butt back into the gym and now I do 30min high intensity spin classes 5 times a week with additional visits for resistance training and feeling really good.....................except for my BG levels i cannot get back under control obviously with the increase in exercise and i have these increadible urges to up my carbs.
twice my Doc said she had referred me to the Diabetic Dietician but i have never had an appointment to attend and i get no realy advice from GP and have only seen the Diabetic nurse 1 and that was when i was diagnosed last June.
I just need to try various ways to snack before and after a spin session along with do more before and after exercise readings to regain a balance.
Been sent my appt for HB1Ac 28 April with a follow up appt with the DIabetic nurse and concerned my readings may not be so good
any iadvice out there from anyone who does high intensity workouts and how they manage their readings without ging overboard with carbs, would be greatly appreciated 🙂
