For breakfast you could have full fat Greek yoghurt with strawberries, raspberries or blueberries on top.
Lunch could be cheese omelette with bacon and mayonaise.
Then for dinner you could have salmon/chicken with cauliflower mash ( with some mashed broccoli added) and a small portion of no added sugar baked beans.
Nuts are good to snack on - almonds/walnuts.
Do you like any salads? Or avocados? Because you find you are cutting back on carbs you can eat more good fats to keep you from getting hungry. You will soon get into enjoying your new routine, it does get easier!

Lots of people will recommend low carb, and if you’re able to reduce carbs then that will help your blood sugars. Autism can cause lots of issues with food though, and they can be difficult for other people to understand. Don’t feel too daunted by all the diet advice, make changes where you can and see where that gets you, whilst still being sustainable diet. If the levels are still too high you’ll need to consider more medication and / or exercise, but those are options available.

Welcome to the forum @nikkijloakes

Sorry you have been diagnosed with diabetes. Try not to feel overwhelmed. You WILL be able to find an approach that works for you. Your autism might mean that you will have to take things a little more gradually and gently. Be kind to yourself, and don’t underestimate the positive impact of even quite small changes you feel able to make.

Hope you can see some possibilities in some of the suggestions that have been offered. Don’t worry if some ideas don’t appeal to you - what is important is that you find an approach that works for you 🙂
