Been a little while now, since I last posted.

Still on the LCHF, and around 170lb (down from 215lb).

Had my latest HBA1C result today, so that's 10 months now since I was diagnosed (99).

So last test in Nov and I was down to 30, and they dropped my Metformin from 4 to 2.

I was expecting a higher result, surely. I mean 30 is low right?

Couldn't believe it - latest HBA1C result was 28. Twenty Eight!

The DN wants to try me off the Metformin for three months and review.

He was a bit concerned my cholesterol went up from 4.5 to 5.4.

He mentioned statins if that doesn't change.

That freaks me out TBH.z

I think I can tweek my diet and drop my cholesterol. I'm not worried. My blood pressure was 134/70 and I walk a mile a day. Genuinely - I think I'm in good health.

So all in all - pretty solid results. For me, at least, LC seems to be working out. Just trying to keep it on the level. Too much to throw away after all this hard work.

Well done, Pink Grapefruit! That's brilliant.😛:D😛 Good for you!🙂

Thanks guys 🙂

I thought I was good at 52. 28 is amazing, well done

Well done Pink - you obviously were determined & worked hard to achieve a 28 - and wow that is an amazing result. x

Well done, PG. Yet another shining example to us all, showing what can be achieved through personal effort🙂

Fantastic results , well done.

I've seen one or two low ones like that over the years, so it's low, but not unheard of - well done on achieving such consistency, whatever you are doing seems to be doing the job! 🙂

The only possible comment I might make is that the test can be affected by certain conditions, such as anaemia, so have a read of the following and consider if any of them might need to be tested for:

WOW...fantastic results PG...outstanding...well done.

Thanks for all the comments guys.

I've stuck to LCHF for 9 months now, no bread, pasta, rice, or potato (well, except Christmas Day).

My appetite has reduced a great deal, few berries and maybe a low carb toasted muffin with peanut butter for breakfast. But more frequently just the fruit. I'll have a coffee and a big glass of water with my multi vits first thing.

Then a big commute most days of 90min or so. Another coffee at work and lots of water through the morning.

Lunch will be a small pack of chicken bites or tin of tuna with salad. Or boiled eggs and spinach pots. Again surprisingly light lunch is fine for me. Then I walk a mile in my break.

I will usually take another coffee in the afternoon and more water, as by 4pm I can be flagging. I then have a 9bar or a 6-8gram bag of crisps for my drive home (don't drive on low BS!).

Ok so when I get home I often have a few berries, or some cachews, maybe a cup of tea for the kids bedtime push. Dinner is often 2030 or later after all of that.

I crave something tasty. Piri Piri chicken, Salmon, curry. Just load up the veg with whatever protein I have, like the bags of steamed veg. Might have a bit of cauliflower cheese with a roast at the weekend. A Yorkshire pudding on occasion as a treat.

Sometimes I might have a late night snack of a few nuts of berries. But I try to fill myself up with a tonne of veg.

The odd glass of wine, and maybe a bourbon once in a while (wild turkey - gobble gobble). And that is honestly about it.

So I think I need to scale back the nuts and cheese a bit, and have a bit less protein at lunch. I might try to have some vegetarian meals/days. I think that would do me good.

The weight is still coming off (very very slowly now. My next big target is to get under 12stone). So close now!

My diet adds up to 50-90g of carbs a day. I try and have low days and then other days where I am a bit easier on it. My aim is to keep under 7 on my tester after 1hr after eating. My BS is around 5.3 at breakfast time. I test if I feel low (or high). A big latte can totally wreck my BS! So try and keep BS on the level, and in the groove. It's not easy, but it's not hard. And in the greater scheme of things, my lot could be far far worse!

Brilliant results and hold the statins too as a 5.4 isn't that high. Ask for the ldl and Hdl and trig levels to get an all over picture. Is there a history of heart disease if not ask why you need them. Do not be fobbed of with all over 40s get them or because your diabetic. That isn't a reason to be on them as they can cause muscle pain and your heart is a muscle.

Well done you. Brilliant results
