No T2s are "TREATING" their diabetes with Medication Joe - there are no treatments for it.😉

If I were a T2 I'm not sure I'd be wanting to treat my diabetes with Medication Joe either. I mean he's very handy with social media and all, but I'm not sure I'd want to have to grind him down and take him in tablet form :D

Heard bk from a lady called katie and im gonna give her more details etc etc

yeah my mate came off medication is type two now treats with diet alone shall i just instruct her to email the mag?

I would Medusa. They can then decide if she's suitable or not.🙂

Unfortunetly I was unable to do this cause of work commitments in the end, but I have been told they have found another member of the forum to help them out.

I've been asked by our Balance team to try and find some people with Type 2 who used to treat their diabetes with medication, but now only manage it with diet and exercise.

They're looking to do an article later in the year and are looking for some people to feature. If there's anyone interested in helping, let me know!

Or, you can email balance[at]diabetes.org.uk with some details of your experience, and tell them Joe sent you...
Hi Joe,

I was diagnosed with Type 2 over 11 years ago. Seven years later, I had an HbA1c of 9.4% and was on 2000mg of metformin per day - i.e. not too far from needing to inject insulin.

However, I've been off metformin medication for a long time now and, despite that, my HbA1c has been between 5.0 and 5.7 for several years.

I wrote to Diabetes UK "My Stories" some time back. However, I never received a either a feedback or even an acknowledgement. When I chased that up with DUK, I was told that DUK had no interest in my story. Also, that they got so many letters to "My Story" every day that they couldn't possibly deal with acknowledging them all. Do you believe that?

By the way, I'll still have the response if anyone might be interested in seeing it. I did discuss the matter with Rose S and Rosie S at one point. They had some sympathy but nothing changed.

Regards - John M
