Welcome. I am glad you've found us. This community have saved my wellbeing, soul and life more times than I can count and more than they know. I don't know any type 1 (or other) diabetics personally in my life at all, who I would consider a friend or close person. So I get feeling alone. But with these wonderful people I have my tribe.

I can't add to all the wonderful advice you've already had. I just wanted to reapeat what those close to you have said, its not a maratron, small steps and goals will impact the big picture. If you focus on the big picture and everything it won't help you, but looking at trends and small steps you will achieve what you want to.

Took me 15 years to carb count properly and now I can't believe it took me so long. Its trial and error, and repeating but once you have mastered certain foods it is not as much effort. Carbs and Cal's app / book is good. Loads of free apps, can't trust all labels (M&S seems to be higher on the label) and some will have 0g carbs even though for example we all know crips do have carbs, one packet I scanned said zero, but based on experience I could work out what I thought it was.

Ask any questions, read other posts. We are here, we care and we get it.
@PhoebeC thank you for your comment and I am glad that I am finding more and more people in the same boat as me in relation to not knowing other T1D's or diabetics in general! Thank you for your advice in relation to carb counting, I will definitely check labels closely and I am looking into getting a 1/2 unit pen too so hopefully that will help with increasing my doses more.

Thank you very much <3
