If you are dreading the lipids conversation at your review, then having a look at the QRisk2 calculator is likely to put you onto the same information page as your Doc.

My total lipids always come to an inconveniently large total, but the components say something different. Once the trigs get down below a certain number (forgive me, but I forget the suggested level), the chances are the LDL is actually big, fluffy, as opposed to small, dense LDL, which is actually good.
Maybe a look at the good old Professor Sikaris YouTube video could be an investment of your time.
He also does another presentation on "Blood Tests to Assess Your Risk".
Until my GP got her head around things, I used to take a note of the urls and links for the papers/pages or clips I had referenced, and used to leave those with her. All part of my two-way education programme.
