Romans 12 also has some good stuff about patience and perseverance.

v17-18 "If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone."
v16 "Live in harmony with one another."
vv9-10 "Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honour one another above yourselves."
v12 "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer."
I would love to be a fly on the wall if you quoted those verses to him Kaylz!

Personally I think most of the point of the bible is to challenge yourself to live more patiently, graciously and lovingly towards other people as a demonstration that whoever they are, and whatever they have (or haven't) done they truly matter and are deeply loved. While viewing the parts that question some behaviours (anger, envy, selfishness etc) as guidance - only for yourself - to live as the very best version of yourself, as an act of worship of the God you profess to believe in.
