Hi

I seem to be having a scatter brain day (or morning so far) and cant seem to snap out of a zombie like head of tiredness.

Having slept right through the night, which is unusual for me but then again I did have a day out yesterday, I missed the first allarm going off so didnt get my gentle wake up snooze for 20 mins.

Anyway I got up as usual for the bathroom then went back to bed (as usual) for half an hour, however I couldnt settle as I usually do and an hour later after dozing off I woke up in a bit of a confused state.

I have managed to get myself up and dressed but my mind seems to be all over the place, its like a washing machine with 101 thoughts going round at same time, yet I cant concentrate on one of them - I am finding it hard to write this in fact but its keeping me focussed in a hope it will slowly wake me up.

Have a good week everybody!

Have you checked your BG?🙂 Bev

I dont know a lot about type 2 sorry - but if your feeling like this for much longer and nothing changes - then its possible your levels are out of range - maybe hypo or hyper. Have you eaten anything this morning? Do you have test strips or doesnt the doc prescribe them for you? Bev

Hi Bev

Not eaten anything yet, usually have late breakfast about 930-10 am so just about to as running late.

No dont have test strips or meter was told not necessary as type 2.

Trying very hard not to 'snap' at dogs who are annoying me at moment (unusual)for me) so better go have breakfast. Back soon.

Thanks

🙂

Hi Ghost hunter
I am type 2 & have got a meter, i was told to test when i felt strange like you are feeling now.
I would ask for a meter if i was you, as when i'm like that my BGs are low, and as you haven't eaten yet i am guessing it's that & perhaps you will feel better when you have eaten.
Personally i feel better for having the meter it puts my mind at rest as i never know if i am hypo or hyper.
I'm sure you will feel at ease if you had a meter too, i leave you to think about this and hope you feel better soon.

As sweetsatin says, it can be difficult to distinguish between a hyper and a hypo, but if the latter you need to know about it and treat it. The irritablility, confusion etc. do sound like possibly your blood sugar is lower than you are used to - it may not actually be a hypo, but just that your body is adjusting to a lower level (for example, hypo is below 4.0 on a meter, but if your sugars have normally been, let's say, above 8, and then drop to 5 for some reason (effects of your treatment), then you may experience a 'false hypo'.)

Do get a meter and some strips, if only for situations like this. This is causing you worry, anxiety and stress, and a quick test with a meter would give you a quick indication of what is happening. If your doctor or nurse won't give you one, try some of the meter companies' websites - they often give them away free with a small pot of strips (note, tell them you test twice a day if it comes up on their questionnaire - they're after people who will use their strips!).

Hope you are feeling better soon!🙂

I dont test been told dont need to as type 2 🙂

I'm type 2 and test on a regular basis. I'm sure several times it has prevented me from going hypo. If I'm around 4-5 I allow my self an extra sweet treat.

One of the very few things my doctor is good at is insisting I have enough test strips.

Hope you feel better now. I do agree with getting a meter to test. if you continue to not feel well then i would try to contact your GP.

i find if i go low the n i do get very very confused. also find if i go high that i get very aggitated and some times a little more agressive. fuzzy head for me is a sign that i am low

Hi

Sorry not reported back sooner. Just after I wrote earlier a friend came round on the spur of the moment as she was passing. She stayed for ages, but I had real difficulty trying to hold a sensible conversation with her to be honest as had to keep pausing every now and again to regain my thought pattern and think of what I was saying and what came next 😱 It was like I was listening to myself very strange sensation!

I continued to feel tired and confused, had a drink and some lunch which didnt do much except left me even more tired.

Now I seem to be slowly coming round but so desparately tired still. Dinner time soon though and trying to keep to normal track of time so I hopefully get a good nights sleep. Knowing my luck though I will be wide awake by bedtime and wont be able to sleep! 🙄

Just goes to show the lack of knowledge of my type 2 diabetes and contradicting advice I get each time I see GP / Nurse could be dangerous. I need to get this sorted and myself back into the system.

Thanks for the help everyone. 😉 - zzzzzzzzzzz nodding off again!

:D
