Group 7-day waking average?

Morning all. 5.6 after our Greek feast last night.

Yesterday was hot, 29 degrees, which is very hot up here, and for me! Nothing much was done after lunch. We ate our lamb kebabs, hummus etc under our newly shorn grapevine, so not as sheltered as it can be, and reminisced about the time we had a trip over to Ithaca from Kefalonia and ate at this amazing restaurant under a beautiful grapevine. It was a lovely holiday, been to Kefalonia twice and it's a fantastic island. I then
read a book about the filming of Captain Corelli"s Mandolin and the cast would often pop over and eat at that particular restaurant.

Today we have eldest grandchild and youngest grandchild coming for lunch, brother and sister, then big sis is going to get her lashes done! I don't know what that entails, and Rocco will stay with us. Mum at work and dad in bed after a 12 hour nightshift. it'll only be for an hour or so before his sister will be back for him. It's definitely handy having a big sister who can babysit and drive you about. Think we"ll get the paddling pool out.

Happy Birthday @goodybags have a fab day. Have some sugar free jelly, that shouldn't attract the wasps!
Congratulations @ColinUK on your HS. Peaky Blinders is one of Mr Eggy's favourite TV shows, Ive never watched it.

Have a great day folks. Keep safe in the heat.

Edited to add, Mr Eggy about to tuck into his Greek feast, dreaming of the Greek islands we’ve visited but will never visit again ‘cos it’s too darn hot!

Good morning all, a lovely hot sunny day, its going to be a very hot humid day. Please take plenty of water on board, use suncream and a hat if you go out. Don't go out in the hottest part of the day especially the older and children.
5.1 for me i never seem to get a hs either side yes but not a hs. Am going out on Indie as soon as nurse has been to do insulin. Going to lidls so will be out for about 20 mins tops. Just fancy some salads for tea.
You all take care each and every one of you. Extra special wishes to those on their own or struggling
Life is good don't give up, if you need help don't be afraid to reach out to someone
Take care lots of love

Morning

Hangs head in shame, 7.9 today due to eating some chocolate as well as cheese and crackers yesterday evening I suspect. Haven’t craved chocolate in months. Only plans today are to crotchet and then out with the running group this evening, although it might be a walk. Temperature here BBC weather says 29, a weather app I use says 32, so somewhere between the 2 most likely.

Happy Birthday @goodybags hope you have a great day

@ColinUK - congratulations on your HS.

Good morning lovely people!
5.6 this morning, yesterday I struggled all day to keep my levels up, it was so hot and muggy so I guess that was the reason.
Last night I took advantage of the low readings, ate a banana and finished off the prunes

Happy birthday @goodybags and congratulations on the HS @ColinUK

How about for a bit of fun if people who test in the mornings post their waking levels? I think it would be interesting to see what the average works out at after a week 🙂

I'll start with mine - I was 6.0 when I woke up this morning 🙂

(please don't let me be the only person to enter one! 😉)
4.8 this morning and 7 day average of 6.1

Good morning folks. Hot and sunny in Lincolnshire today with a forecast of 31 degC. BG was 8.1 this morning. Probably that double chocolate magnum an hour after dinner last night. Hubby ate the last one so more more temptation.
Busy morning, beehives need checking again and we need to put a load of bags and boxes in the attic. They are in our back bedroom which needs clearing out for visitors this weekend.

Happy birthday @goodybags
Congratulations on your HS @ColinUK

Staying indoors this afternoon but we do need to water the pots again tonight. Happy hump day. Stay cool and keep hydrated 😎

morning 5.1 this morning we had jet another drama last night the cooker has stopped working its brand new as most of you know its a Range master duel fuel and its the electric that not working, luckily enough we don't really need it working for a few days until the electrician can come, just waiting to find out when.

Happy birthday @goodybags hope you have a great day
congratulations on your HS @ColinUK

I was ok on -2 NR yesterday albeit, higher & peaking earlier & still dropped a bit faster than usual but, not as steeply as the day before! That is until a very late, late, late, last minute change of mind for dinner & didn’t quite make it in the green this morning to wake with a headache & hungover in the 3’s. I just lay for a bit: too groggy to do anything & couldn’t really think; instinct really that me scan again later & it was JUST about green 4.1!

I then, sat up properly in bed & waited a bit before stumbling to the hall landline to call chemist for delivery. Didn’t see the text from them timed at about 12:30 yesterday as I was asleep then & it was after 8pm when the phone beeped again after the message was still sitting unread, it does that eventually if I’ve missed the little beep of a message in the first place, in the land of nod!

I asked what the prescription is & it’s 1 box of 30G 8mm. Sensibly only 1 box to try it & see?

Then, sat at the kitchen table, I’d taken the phone in there & was sitting rather than standing in the hall, getting over my headache & grogginess until it passed before walking back to bed to check how much red was on the graph?

Now sitting in bed & it was only a teeny tiny bit of red just before I woke 09:27 BS 3.8, 09:32 BS 4.1 & after jaunt to hall, kitchen & back in bed 09:44 BS 4.1. THEN FINALLY thought to have a treatment of a newly arrived recently, along with the baklava, bag of lemon Turkish delight 1 piece before posting, with a few missed keys to start with but, getting more accurate now & live BS update….10:06 BS 5.6 & diagonal up arrow!

Oops! FINALLY my morning greeting, you lovely, understanding folks. A Very Good Morning to you all & have a Wonderful Day! 😉

Still sitting in bed but, will eventually get up for breakfast & the chemist will deliver at some point? Will give these longer thicker needles a go but, I’m not bending my needles anymore now as I seem to have the hang of it but, last minute hypo this morning tells me not to get too over certain about things! 🙄😳

I can always have another discussion & change needles to the shorter 31G 4mm later?

I REALLY like these lemon Turkish delight, already had a couple before on normal BS, as they don’t taste disgustingly sour on a hypo brain as jelly baby did: why I changed to marshmallows; now, I find the marshmallow too disgustingly sweet on a hypo brain! 🙄 BUT, anything eventually turns to tasting disgusting eventually on a hypo brain: just the way it seems to work; hypo’s change the way my brain tastes things!

Tesco do their own mini Magnum type lollies. 13 grms of carbs. Just enough of a chocolate and ice cream hit for me. I really like them, a full Magnum now makes me feel quite sickly.

Yes we normally get the mini ones but I think they were sold out that day. We only go to Tesco once or twice a month for our main shopping. It's a 20 minute drive away.

Morning all. It's a 4.9 for me today....

@goodybags A Very Happy Birthday!

Yum, yum jelly & ice cream! Did I ever tell you I love jelly as it’s one of those foods that make me happy! Especially since I’ve been on the normal with sugar: was on the sugar free sachets with artificial sweeteners for YEARS; the SF tasted a bit strange as all artificial sweeteners do & didn’t set as properly nor was it stable as it turned back to liquid pretty quickly! 😛:D

Lidl do their own minis as well. Same anout of carbs i think. Boxes of 12 either all the same flavour (milk chocolate) or a mix of milk, plain, almond and white. Very nice!

Well. Just finishing off breakfast when chemist delivered & I tried out the new needles: very, very slow drift downwards & ate when it reached the 4’s; dinged another beef stew & dumplings, been eating too many quick ready meals when going low and these days, I had some Fever Tree cola, not as sweet without sweeteners & just less sugar, which is a rare find post sugar tax while dinging. Maybe not quite as good as a hypo treatment as full sugar coke but, I actually like drinking the Fever Tree cola as it’s nicer to drink something less sweet: it’s another alternative to the quite dilute Polish brand raspberry syrup I have with meals sometimes!

The new 30G 8mm needles are noticeably thicker & it feels more sturdy BUT, at 8mm it’s too long & hurt going in! Ouch! A little bit late for midday basal as I finished breakfast so, did the 3rd day of 50 basal after the NR with the 31G 6mm as my thighs are a lot less fleshy than my stomach & DID NOT fancy the 8mm going in there!

I can see already that the longer length is going to be more painful going forward but, didn’t KNOW until I tried it & it’s only 1 box. I’ll give it more of a chance with some more goes with NR but, don’t fancy it for basal! I still have 2 & bit boxes of the 6mm left & I may stick with those or try the shorter 31G 4mm?
