The Nara was extraordinary.

After that we popped to the Courtauld for Abstact Eroticism that neither of us got at all. Then tea, with cake, and Zoonation followed with a wonderfully energetic piece that showed off the skills of their junior company in exemplary fashion. Ages ranged from 8 to 18.

Morning and a 6.2 for me and another nice overnight line.
Really nice w/ end and yesterday was just lazing watching box sets apart from the Aldi shop and some time in garden weeding and moving bricks about etc.
Don’t mind the short heatwaves but is not comfortable sleeping or working in garden.
Have blood test today and hoping for a drop from current level which should be better as Q1/25 was not great control.
Anyway will walk down to GPs and then we are going to garden centre for free coffee and a have some cake.

Morning all. 6.5.

Hot and sticky night, haven’t had much sleep from 3am onwards. Finally got up at 6.15. Already breakfasted and sitting with patio doors open. Yesterday I just gently pootled, a bit of washing hung out and dried, deadheaded the roses, picked and froze raspberries to make jam, and redcurrants to make redcurrant sauce and or Cumberland sauce. We’ve two huge redcurrant bushes, one we protect in the fruit cage, the other we let the birds have. They are both laden this year. The bird’s bush, although smaller, has more ripe berries so I pinched some from theirs! Don’t worry, there’s still loads for them.

Today I have a DSN appointment at 10.30 to discuss how I’m doing with Fiasp. Very well is the answer, she wants to change my basal from Levemir, it’s being discontinued very soon, to Lantus or Tresiba, I would like to leave it as long as possible if I’m allowed. Not sure about just one dose a day, I’ll grill her about it today.
We’re also having baby Rocco today for a few hours, daddy was working last night, he normally works day shift on Sunday, so he needs some sleep. Mummy at work until 5. Hope it’s not too hot, he’s a redhead and as pale as a ghost, dad is Scottish, might be paddling pool in the shade day. Along with factor 50 too.

Have a Happy Monday.

10.2 hangs head in shame

Morning all. 🙂 5.9 here.

Hubby’s train/bus/train from Bristol was on time yesterday - on a Sunday! Wow! He’s knackered after two nights out on the razz with his mates, but he had a good catch-up with them all.

It’s very humid here. In fact, it’s just like NW Spain in July and August, which means I can get my basal settings tweaked before we go there on holiday next month instead of doing it when we get there. Fab!

Fabulous redcurrants! Ours is not that productive yet. We moved 2 bushes into our fruit cage last year and they are settled in now. Regular feeding has helped after years of neglect from the previous owner's. I am freezing mine too. Jam making when the weather cools down a bit.

A 5.8 for me today.

I was expecting a delivery from Amazon yesterday afternoon and received a text saying: "Hi, I'll be arriving with your delivery soon. Please secure pets if you have them and turn on a light if it's dark. Thanks!"

An hour or so after I'd muzzled the cat and chained her to the kitchen table, Alexa informed me that my parcel had been delivered.

The driver must have been a serious pet hater and scared of the dark because he'd sneaked up to the front door, dumped the package and ran off without ringing the doorbell.

Stay safe in the heat everybody.

Dez

Morning all 7.1. Missed posting yesterday so congrats to any HSers.

@eggyg thanks for letting us know abour @PattiEvans.

@PattiEvans hoping you're on the mend soon.

Have a good day everyone and try to stay cool if you can. We're leaving Cardiff this morning, taking a drive to Penarth before heading home.

10.7 this morning!
Could not get my BG lower than 9 all night even with bolusing ridiculous amounts. When I say ridiculous amounts, I mean in total enough to cover a pizza 😱 obviously have changed my set and refreshed my insulin etc and have been monitoring with finger prick tests. The joys of insulin resistance in pregnancy!! I am now sitting at 7.2 which I can cope with. In a few days my pump will hopefully have caught up.

I am feeling very cheery though. Today is sports day for our senior school students and we are celebrating with a bbq at lunchtime (also, hooray for lower carb lunch!)
And this week the school is also celebrating 'Jane Austen Week', featuring events such as 'Regency Scandals' and regency dancing. I also have my own daughter's sports day, the 'colour run' (or waddle, in my case) and an end of term party to look forward to.

Have a good Monday all.

Morning folks, 5.3 today so nearly, for once had a flat-ish line overnight to nothing higher than 6.3 overnight
dinner yesterday evening was chicken goujons & salad

Looks like today is going to be Scorchio here today
I’m just sorting out a few things for work as last day on the month, then customers to see

Happy Monday everyone 😎

Morning everyone. Not seen one of these in a while, yep, it’s a 5.2 for me today.

Have a good day everyone and stay cool.

Still stuck the wrong side of the border with a 6.2 this morning, same as yesterday. All blue sky and sunshine here and very warm already. 3 WFH as usual on a Monday, but for a change I don't care - Wimbledon starts today so I'll be glued to the tv for most of the day.

Congratulations @Barrowman on your HS today and @Lauren @Colin g on yours yesterday

Have a good start to the week and stay cool and safe.
