Group 7-day waking average?

On the subject of needing more insulin of any description, as we all know, insulin can "go off" for any number of reasons. One I hadn't realised 'till some years ago is that insulin is light sensitive, so always ensure it's in it's box or you have ensured the cap is on the pen. I bet everyone comes in saying "Oh I knew that!" now. :D
 
So this morning I was 7.6. I will be glad to see the back of the Omnipod 5 on 1 May.

The break in Exeter with our friends was a lot of fun. It did rain incessantly, so the walks we had planned and catching the bus to Exmouth for lunch didn't happen. Instead we spent a fair bit of time shopping (though I only bought 1 top), and an even more generous amount of time frequenting hostelries. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner and cocktails early evening. We dined at the Ivy to the tune of a string quartet and an opera singer who had his amplifier bit too loud. The food and atmosphere was top notch... By contrast we dined the next evening in a very down to earth Weatherspoons situated in an old Quaker meeting hall where myself and my girlfriend enjoyed a vegetarian curry and the male members of our party enjoyed very tender sirloin steaks. Lunch one day was a hot pulled beef sandwich on some seriously delicious white crusty bread. J pronounced it the "best sandwich I can recall having". The last night lead in was cocktails in the Cosy Club (Espresso Martinis for me) followed by mussels for the ladies and pizza for the chaps in "The Holt" - a newly opened Otter brewery pub. I'm afraid to say I more or less ignored the consequences of the undiabetically friendly food and drinks.

Anyway.... congratulations to @MeeTooTeeTo and @Pam123 on your HSs.

@eggyg hope you have just as good a time as I did on your break.
 
@rebrascora, thank you for that. Its a bit harder with Tresiba to see a difference straight away but if this evening and overnight is the same, i shall be upping it to see. Its finally dropped to 4.9 just in time for dinner so i'll see what happens. Thank you though for reminding me its not just me.

@PattiEvans sounds like you've had the perfect break.

also was going to mention I attempted some DIY yesterday, TBH I’ve never really that good at DIY anyway, but currently whilst I’m slight stressed, even I can see with my own eyes yesterdays attempt is looking like a Frank Spencer Job, no wonder the wife declares many of my projects BodgeJob :rofl: :rofl:
 
9.5 before rising to 10.6 within a couple of ticks, on this shy-blue morning. Nothing like what the weatherman was saying, remaining thew same all day. I got out to the post office to deal with a large envelope, learning that it's days' are numbered. I do hope the rumour mill is wrong on this.

Dizziness stopped pool at the pub today, before letter my support to play. Overall I lost by 4/5 - 2, the 2 were very lucky.

My DIY skills have waned over the years - I don't even attempt them now as something always goes wrong with the job! Or I injure myself.

Congratulations to @MeeTooTeeTo and @Pam123 on the HSs today.
 
Part of the problem is we always used to do DIY jobs ourselves but sadly age and creaky bones make some jobs just too difficult so inevitably have to get somebody to do them but according to OH they are never quite satisfactory or to the standard he would have done them and in some cases downright shoddy.
 
Good morning everyone

BG 5.0

Yesterday I started a new exercise regime regardless of my hip pain after talking to the gp physio. 77 minutes walking. Very tired by the end of it. But when I got home my wife said that she wanted to go for a walk with me. I dreaded the prospect(because of the inevitable increased hip pain) but went anyway (what a hero!). We walmed a long way and ended up on the beach. A great time. 68 minutes in total, back home, in agony! Spent the evening feeling very sore (but happy).

However, hip is back to ok-ish this morning. I will wander out for a walk at around 8am I think.

I have discovered that the M&S 'best ever' prawn sandwiches are really really good. I buy one and share it with my wife for lunch at the moment.

I must remember to get my wife an Easter card! My memory seems to be a bit more shaky as of late.

Thinking of memories... one of the best things I ever did in our home (DIY mostly) was to scrap our shabby dining room and turn it into a really nice kitchen diner. I did this many years ago and it is still a great place to cook, eat, chat, relax.

And here is a view of when I was working on it. It needed real vision to be able to see and progress to the final diner (it was a mess!). And, pretty much everyone told me not to do it. They couldn't see what I could see. I have always been good at DIY and they know it but still they couldn't resist trying to put me off. We all need encouragement! Sigh.

Thanks. Everyone now says that they like it, so yes it was a good job and I am happy that we have it now.

All it needed was a vision, money, and a lot of hard work. Oh and patience, determination and drive!

Sadly I doubt that I could do such a large job easily now as I am a lot older and falling apart! 🙂
 
Morning all. 5.9 at the unearthly hour of 5.50, on a bank holiday! Thought I’d get a bit of peace before the little ones got up. Nope! They both landed downstairs at 6am like a couple of giddy kippers! Think they’re a tad excited about our Easter break.

We watched the new Paddington film last night, Paddington in Peru. I was very, very disappointed. I don’t think I laughed once, the other two are brilliant and I had high hopes but it was not to be. The girls enjoyed it, and that’s the main thing. It’s on Netflix if you’re wondering.

I got an early birthday present yesterday from Mr Eggy, he said it was too big to take away with us, and he was right! He came through whilst we were watching the aforementioned film, at 8pm with a huge box with a candle on, singing “ Happy Birthday”. It’s a big magnifying mirror with lights, I mentioned a few months ago how I was struggling to put my makeup on, even with a magnifying mirror, I’m very long sighted. He’d remembered and had done his research and got me the best, he said. Superhuman, the brand, not Mr Eggy! Although he is to me. 😉 I can’t believe he managed to source it, buy it and hide it from me. He usually orders me things from my Amazon account so I get the email and Alexa always blabs it’s on its way!:rofl: Looking forward to using it later, if @ColinUK doesn’t arrive in time!

I’m sure Center Parcs has WiFi so I’ll see you all tomorrow.

Morning folks. 5.8 this morning.

Have a great bank holiday planned. Taking van loads of stuff to the dump!

No theatre today. Had a two show day yesterday. Matinee was Midnight Cowboy, a very brave attempt to make a musical from the film. Didn’t really work though.

Then dashed off to Sadler’s Wells East for a darker take on Snow White by Ballet l’orient. Good ideas on stage. Perfectly ok. Nothing particularly noteworthy.
 
Morning a 6.3 for me and a nice line after a late sandwich watching football and getting excited and a correction dose.
Sorted new phone out so pleased with that as I am useless with technology ( can usually sort it out but just takes me a long time) and DIY ( which I have just given up on).
In fact pretty useless at most things if truth be known according to those closest to me 🙂
Nice day yesterday and trip to garden centre and planning on having a nice break and will go out for lunch later and a walk or three.
Done the dogs and our little Star is walking further than the other two so pleased.
Nice weather and just content and Pizza to look forward tonight with a new flavour Artichoke,Olives and Pecorino to try.

Morning Colin,
I suppose Snow White is seen as a paragon of Purity in some ways but does seem to be the subject of several attempts to do the polar opposite by a dark interpretation of the story.

It is a very dark story as it’s more about the malice and jealousy in the heart of her mother than about Snow herself though. The Disney version is much lighter than Grimm story.
The ballet was quite true to the original story and featured all of the gory bits. Like the Queen eating bits of Snow’s body (or thinking she is), the strangulation with the ribbon/shawl, poisoned hair comb, poisoned apple, and red hot iron shoes.
There were kids in the audience who were crying at the end as it was quite graphic!

It’s cold, wet n windy here after yesterday’s welcome sunshine. According to the forecast, it’s going to slap it down from 10 o’clock onwards, so we’d best get out there ASAP with the dogs!
