Group 7-day waking average?

Morning everyone.Another sunny start to today and a happy 5.4 for me a little while ago. Porridge time and then going to wash the car and give it a polish.

Have a great day everyone and stay well.

6.3 this AM for me.

Sadler’s Wells yesterday was ‘interesting’. Was a triple bill of pieces by William Forsythe. First two pieces left me cold but the third was great fun.

I’ll do a proper write up later this week. In a rush now so not sticking around. And London Palladium this evening for Ru Paul’s Drag Race Werk the World 2025

Only going as the tickets were comps but might be fun 🙂

Morning

5.6 this morning, plans today are housework in my own house which has been a bit neglected for the last 6 weeks, been more a clean where you see type thing as been so busy doing FIL. Will also do a bit of crotchet and going out with the running group this evening.

Congratulations on the HS today @Martin.A and @MeeTooTeeTo

Morning folks! Sunny again but rain is forecast. Didn't get any yesterday despite ominous black clouds at times.
7.2 this morning. Not bad after our Mexican dinner yesterday evening. I had 2 small corn taco shells with the chilli topped with grated red leicester and a generous helping of homemade salsa salad. Dessert was homemade waffles with ice cream for everyone but I had yoghurt with mine. I make the waffles 50% almond flour so half of one is about 10g carbs.

Congratulations on the HS @MeeTooTeeTo and @Martin.A
If I ever get my bg down to a 5.2 I am expecting double stars from everyone

More shredding planned today. Got several dead willow stems to trim for bean supports.
If it rains this afternoon I will clean the windows inside.
Have a good Monday :D

Colin, we’ve booked Glyndebourne in June. It’s a real treat as we’ve not been for years. Just bought a Dinner jacket and trousers from Oxfam Online. Perfect! Delivered in 4 days - a Balmain suit for £60! I hope the opera (Barber of Seville) is as good as their service.

I take Metformin too, I was started on it after my distal pancreatectomy. The hope was it would help the remaining part of my pancreas and stave off the inevitable for a while. I was diagnosed as diabetic ( Type 2) three years later and they have kept me on Metformin ever since, occasionally I ask if I need it and the general consensus is “ if it ain’t broke don’t fix it!” In other words, they haven’t a clue really! So here I am more than 17 years later still taking it. Think I’ll ask again at my review next month and play Devil’s Advocate and ask them why. 😉
Morning a 7.1 at getting up which was normal time but busy but exciting morning.
I am aware of some 3c patients being prescribed Metaformin as an alternative to insulin but not Type 1 hence my initial question.
Can see it being used in conjunction as it also works on the liver even if my Consultant said as I was managing fine on insulin he would not change.
Really nice w/ end and BG behaving and went for decent walk so did not take any insulin for lunch.
Heading off to Altrincham soon but really quiet so will find a nice place for lunch.
Congrats to all on HSs and gave a great week.

Morning all and 6.2 for me.

Hurrah managed to sort some software for a keyboard yesterday. Managed to find the ancient installation disk and after digging around noticed that one of the files contained some quite obvious garbage. A few edits later and hey presto .

Sunny and blowy this morning so last of washing finishing off.

Have a good day everyone.

We're going to Cardiff in June for a weekend. I've heard about the arcades, what are they like? I think we're staying between the docks and the centre, not sure as hubby booked it.
I went with my parents this winter and I did like the arcades. The castle is also worth a visit in my opinion 🙂

Afternoon.was a 5.1 for me this morning.Couple of low alarms went of during the night
3 5 the first time,So Three JB s 4.1 the second time 2 JB s.Wonder if I'd taken 3 it might have been a 5.2 Sunny up here today but breezy.Showers forecast this afternoon.Carnt remember the last time we had rain . Congratulations to @MartinA and @ Meetooteetoo on your Hs today.Enjoy your day people

4.2 for me this morning and no red on my overnight graph and I went to bed on 7.7 although it required a jelly baby just before 4am to achieve, despite a reduced Levemir dose to try to account for the exertion of trimming horses hooves and believe me, it was some considerable exertion! Blooming heck! It was like trying to cut concrete with a knife, trying to pare their soles and frogs!! And that was despite sharpening my knives before I started! Thankfully my new rasp managed the heels, toes and walls OK, but the long spell of dry weather had really made their feet rock hard. My hands, knees and back were all seriously complaining this morning. Interestingly my horses hooves never get as hard as that, so it must be something to do with the conditions over near the coast where my sister keeps her horses. If we get rain on Wednesday I am going to go back over on Thursday in the hope they will be softer and I can finish things off to my satisfaction. Got back just in time to take Arthur out for some single schooling work and then feed and tidy up at my yard and home by 9pm to get something to eat before bed. Settled on a fun size apple and cheese again as being quick and easy and requiring minimum effort and insulin, so I think I will have hit a considerable calorie deficit yesterday as didn't have time for lunch, but I have plenty of stores on me to live off!!
Nothing planned today other than usual chores and a trip the feed store for GGs and Lidl for me and hopefully a walk to realign my back and get my knees working. Still got puffy, bruised knees from my accident trying to get on a moving carriage a week ago and hoof trimming yesterday definitely upset them. The right one is quite hot and more swollen today, so some walking will hopefully help to reduce the swelling.
Still no rain here since goodness knows when, but I have a lot of grass to mow, so I will have to fit some of that in too today.

That’s a lot of HARD effort! 😱

Well! My dishwater is here! It’s sitting in the inner porch for now as I could barely drag it through the open front door enough to close it! I CANNOT lift it with my wrist still injured it’s SO heavy! Shopping’s not coming until 2-3pm with all the dishwashing stuff!

Oddly enough my sister & BIL are now back from HK where they spent the last 3 months over the Chinese New Year & dropped by briefly yesterday when I told her about buying the dishwasher! They didn’t stay long as I was literally about to take a bath before going to bed: if she was 5 minutes later I would have been soaking in the bath without my iPhone, never been one of those that carry it everywhere & I HAVE heard that some take it with them to the little girl’s room they’re so afraid of missing a call, & only by calling the landline would I have heard it; would have been annoying & I probably would have left it to see who called AFTER my bath!

She said she drop by again for another longer visit soon. I MAY wait & ask my BIL to help me move & lift it onto the sink area countertop? & a :thankyou: Pretty Please to my BIL & no batting of eyelashes with my sister watching! 😱o_O:rofl:

Hi everyone. 7'6 this morning.

Yesterday I uploaded my Libre data to LibreView, which I don't do very regularly. I was curious to see what is my average insulin amount per day. Lower than I expected, but there are days where my doses are really minimal or even none (that's NR, I do take my Levemir daily). Plus the occasional time where I inject but forget to register it in Libre may affect the calculations. Also the two weeks I was looking at have been active with work and not many meals out. I know the numbers on holiday would look very different!

I have reduced my Levemir a bit and seems a good idea, at least for the daytime dose. Today I had to reduce it even further as I take it at work and my cartridge was on its last few units. I don't think it will make a massive difference but will keep an eye on levels.

late again been shopping for new garden solar led lights for fence and other parts of the garden, Hubby hates it as I just cant stop when I get going so far ive bought some colour changing dragonflies some different coloured mushrooms, lights for the top of the fence and some other small candle lights, I must stop now until next time we go near a garden centre or other places selling similar almost forgot 5.2 this morning and congrats to my fellow HS people today.
Right off to put the new lights in the garden

Oh yes! Meant to weigh myself this morning, as I will every Monday at the start of the week now, but, forgot until after I ate breakfast which was 91.45 kilos. After putting away tesco shopping I weighed myself on an empty stomach by then before eating lunch & I’m back to 90.9 kilos! 🙂

Handily enough, just picked up my mail & my blood tests ahead of hospital review is on 28.04.25 so, I have another two weeks to lose a bit more weight? Please? :thankyou:

4.9 this morning for me.

Had a rollercoaster few days, end result is that Dad has changed his mind and doesn’t want to go into a care home. Mum said she does as she can’t cope well at home now. She has tried to persuade him to no avail so we have cancelled the assessment this week along with all the moving plans. Feeling so frustrated and angry. The danger of falls is still there along with their decreasing ability to cope and manage everyday life in the home. But I’m not going to feel guilty anymore about going away on holiday or out visiting family, friends and places. We have tried so hard to get help and care for them and they have turned everything down. I know it must be hard for them but their expectations of us being always available and belief that they can cope is frustrating. We will plod on until the next series of falls, the fear being the next one will be serious.

Sorry for the rant, not diabetes related, but just wanted to get it off my chest.

On a happier note my daughter and family are not moving to Pittsburgh yet. Her husband is taking the job working remote from home with a few visits every month or so over there. If things go to plan then they will be moving in about 18 months time. We had the grandchildren today and took them to a farm park for some Easter themed events. Had a lovely day with them both.

Wanted to give you a care emoji for your parent predicament, and a heart emoji for your photos, so just went with a thumbs up.
Hope your dad comes round, keep trying.
