Group 7-day waking average?

Have woken up to a hard frost and it's still minus 2 on our garden thermometer. Our youngest has a 10-7 shift at Tesco but he hadn't factored in de-icing his car before he left, so I did it for him while he showered, had breakfast and got himself ready to go. Told him I'm not doing it again, especially for his 8am and 7am starts on Sundays and Mondays.

@Gwynn - I mentioned a few weeks ago about having some hip pain and I was worried it might be the joint, but it turned out to be muscular. Physio told me it would get better on its own, which it has. Hopefully you have a similar issue with a similar outcome.

@ColinUK hope you're feeling better soon. Pleased to see it hasn't affected your sense of humour, ie Better than from a glass!

Hope the wintry weather hasn't affected anyone's plans for the day.

Good morning everyone! A 12'5 when I got up at 6, ooops! Not great but still good progress in the past few days, after last week's glucose chaos. I'm doing actual basal-bolus now: Levemir in the morning and Novorapid for almost every meal. It looks like dinners are the part that needs more work.

I emailed the surgery about the Metformin I was supposed to try, apparently they didn't receive that letter from the diabetes team and they asked if I can bring the one I have. Seems a bit silly to get the pills at the moment to be honest, as I seem to actually need the insulin, but I guess there's no harm in trying ?
 
5.2 this morning after a bad night in the red for a good hour, the alarm didn't go off when I checked on waking it looks like it was on low. anyway loft insulation finished last night he had to come back yesterday as he was running late on Monday and was on his own, they had to remove all the insulation that was in the eves as well as the old stuff.we had the loft boarded before but he has said its not ideal to put the boards back without loft legs which we have discovered is expensive.
 
Was a 10 .1 for me this morning.Congratulations to all you lot on Hs .Think I might come off this low carb high protein diet and eat chocolate cake See if I can get a 5.2 that way Works for Gwyn see if it works for me Wonder what the highest number is on
 
Afternoon all. 5 something this morning. Its been a busy day today. I took older daughter to work, went to do the supermarket shop, put it all away, went to a friend's house for lunch and a chat. I've just got home and having a coffee before making soup for dinner then off to the cinema to see Gladiator 2. I shall be asleep in there at this rate!

Afternoon all - it's sunny but blooming cold here in Cornwall, though car thermometer was saying 9 degrees.

6.3 this morning.

Had fish and chips for lunch yesterday then friends came back here and we had coffee with a glass of port and finished off my chocolate cake which is very fudgy. After that I did not eat again, just had 2 cups of black tea since I was feeling shattered. Watched 3 episodes of Masterchef on iPlayer and went to bed early. All this socialising/houseguests/entertaining/cooking over the last 10 days has quite worn me out. 10 years ago I would have done it with one arm tied behind my back!

All I have done today is had a pedicure and got my photo taken for new passport.

Congratulations to @Gwynn, @Grannylorraine , @gail2 and @Pam123 on your HSs. Hope I have not left anyone out.

Ahhh but @Gwynn is a T2 in remission whilst you are T1 - it makes a huge difference!

It was said in jest unfortunately hit button before I could finish.The numbers dont bother as long as it's in-between 4.1 and 10. for me .And that's not always easy . Sorry Gwynn if I caused you upset

I’ve done that before. I booked the luxury seats at Vue to see Tinker Taylor Solder Spy. Went for a meal first straight from a full day at work. Had a couple of glasses vino. Don’t think I got half an hour in and I nodded off! Mr Eggy said I didn’t snore! :rofl:
Keep off the wine and you’ll be fine.

Im obviously still off work but looking forward to “excuse the pun” seeing the eye surgeon tomorrow, and see if he’s in agreement with the Dr I saw in eye casualty yesterday
most importantly hopefully finding out when I can have the necessary procedure to remove the implant / get a new cataract in my right eye
was told yesterday this will be done as an emergency, but not something they can do at NGH
so will not be on standard surgery waiting list, which is a kind of relief
plus the John Radcliffe is as good a place as any to sort this out I think 😉

what has happened I'm sure they said is the steroid implant has for whatever reason made its way onto the lens of my eye, (implant I had put into that eye on 30/09)
this implant should’ve slowly dissolved over the next 6 months into the problem area of my eye, but it’s obviously got other ideas

this morning I’m kind of thinking my vision in that eye is possibly slightly better today, compared to what it’s been over last few days, but actually I think it’s not it’s just my brain kind of getting used to what I
can best describe as, in one eye seeing pretty good but in the other looking through not the lens of my glasses but trying to see through grease proof paper

appreciate I’m not the first person to find out they have eye problems or need surgery but it is still a bit of a shock for this to come on so suddenly

Sorry do you mean a "new " cataract? What happened to me after a lens implant was a PCO (posterior capsule opacification) To treat this they blast it away with a laser. It gave me a bad headache but woke up with 20/20 vision the next morning.

Sorry, @Colin g I never meant to cause upset... I occasionally get a bit envious of all those lovely levels the T2s get, but I know it's just the way the cookie crumbles!

@MikeyBikey I will double check when I see the surgeon tomorrow but I’m sure the Dr I saw yesterday in eye casualty said the fix will be a procedure to remove the implant followed by cataract surgery

I’m unsure at the moment exactly what kind of retinopathy I’m suffering from, it’s somewhere in a letter that I can’t find at the moment (remember needing that in a letter to my GP earlier this year) before my GP was happy to prescribe my Mounjaro, despite MJ itself not being a semiglutide which at the time was my HCP’s concern

the implant I had recently was Ozurdex (a dexamethasone steroid)
having in the past been treated with firstly laser in one eye, and then injections of 3 different medications the last one was Vabysmo, and before that Eyelea and the first one they tried me on was Lucentis, in both eyes, luckily one of my eyes responded well to the vabysmo so my eye sight whilst still not “normal” when wearing my varifocals is probably quite good.

was thinking about you Mikey yesterday when I was at eye casualty, when the Dr told me what was going on / what the fix was initially I found it quite upsetting and feeling rather sorry for myself, then I thought why am I upsetting myself this is fixable, other people have major struggles with everything thrown at them, like your transportation and everything your HCP,s put you through

Morning a 6.4 for me and a decline overnight after as we went out for the evening and I just did not take enough insulin so had to juggle a bit.
Lovely day yesterday and great to catch up with my colleague and don’t do it much so all the better when we do meet up.
We spent so much time yapping that she did not have any time to go shopping ( shoes and horsey things are her passion) and we were in a place with loads of nice shops.
Off to Southport today but have to call in to a house to pick up some garden decorations near Sefton Park in Liverpool for my beloved so will call on the way.
Painter called around yesterday and he had finished a few jobs off and only really need a deep clean then it goes on the market.
Unbelievable that the quote from the letting teams contractor to refurbish it was so high we decided to use a guy we know to refresh it and between that and the estate agents saying certain bits did not need doing we have got the house ready for about 25% of the contractor quote and saved an awful lot of money.
Anyway dogs do not like ice and one of our daschunds just stops and looks up at me which is my signal to pick her up and carry her back into the warm house.

Morning all. 12.9!!!! I was 4.1 when i went to bed so had a tiny handful of peanuts. Just realised why i didn't hear the alarm, my volume was turned down!! Oh well, corrrction had and off to take daughter to work. Catch up later.
