Group 7-day waking average?

Have a look at the Specscart website. I’ve used them twice. Very reasonable prices, very good service - really recommend them.

Nick
Just costed out a pair on there that’s equivalent lenses to my Vision Express pair and it came to £420!

Beautiful pond and stunning fish @Pam123
I am so jealous, but as you said, it takes a lot of looking after.:starstruck:

Forgot to check in yesterday. Woke very briefly for midday basal of still 60 & pills 12:02 BS 9.2 & went straight back to sleep as I was tired from going to the hospital on Monday! Then, after a kong sleep 18:10 BS 8.9 fairly wibbly wobbly around 9mmol. I did need to eat another giant soft baked praline cookie around 2am which was probably a bit too much so, remained around 9mmol for yesterday’s long sleep!

Today, I haven’t slept, yet & been quite low since last evening’s breakfast & lunch. WAS going to bed just now without dinner but, BS just crept into the 4’s 05:17 BS 4.9 & walk to kitchen 05:29 BS 4.7 for some tortilla wraps with ham & cheese dinged in the microwave. Ate first & NR after 06:08 44NR.

A Very Good Morning to you all & have a Wonderful Day! 😉

There are definitely signs that basal is too high as I’ve been in target range, apart from breakfast, & going lower well past active NR! I will delay tresiba for a bit today, it’ll help on the sleep front too, & -4 from 60 to 56 at 2pm later.

Off for a snooze now & catch up later! A Stream Of Z’s emoji!

Morning all. A very pleasant 5.1 on this very pleasant morning.

I don’t look at myself very often, usually when I’m doing my makeup and hair, so yesterday morning as I did neither I hadn’t noticed I had a very bloodshot eye until Mr Eggy gazed into my eyes over breakfast ( he was trying to see how I was getting on at Wordle) suddenly exclaimed, have you seen your eye? I’ve never, ever had a bloodshot eye, I must say it was quite alarming. It wasn’t sore or had anything in it, my eyes are very dry and I do rub them a lot and I’d been sneezing like a old man with hayfever! When I went to collect my prescription I asked the pharmacist to have a look, thinking I might need some drops. As I’m on blood pressure meds I’ve to speak to my GP! Well, that’s not going to happen anytime soon, is it? It’s a lot less alarming this morning, good job as I might scare the grandchildren, so I’m not going to put myself through the ordeal of calling the surgery dot on 8 and waiting an hour or so to be told call again in the morning when a doctor might call me in 5 working days or not! It’s awful we feel this way these days isn’t it? I’m sure it’s nothing and the pharmacist was over reacting, I feel fine, I’m brewing a cold and I’m not sleeping very well but what’s new? Anyone else had similar?

Busy, busy day today, seven for lunch which we will definitely be eating outside like yesterday. Save s messing the house up too! We’re having a picky lunch!

Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Morning all. 6.8

Went to the gym yesterday. Kept things very light.

Afterwards I went to see light differently and saw the Sienna exhibition at the National Gallery. I’d been putting off going because the advert is annoying but it’s remarkable.
Many of the alter pieces reconstructed here have been broken up with their various panels in museums dotted all over the world. It’s the first time that they’ve been in the seen complete (or nearly so) in hundreds of years.
Reliquaries have been reunited with panels of gold painted glass for the first time since the late 15thC and the most remarkable monumental plaster slabs showing the base outline of murals on church walls are shown here for the first time anywhere.

I’m not usually one for religious art, or medieval art either tbh but this collection is remarkable in the breadth and the skills it highlights.

This is the official main attraction. It’s tiny. It’s stunning.

Carved ivory. The detail is amazing.

I particularly liked the St on the far left who just looks bewildered and a little angry.

IMG_3098.jpeg

This alter piece has never been seen whole anywhere since being broken up in the 15thC until now.
Again we have an angry Saint (bottom left) but we also have the first recorded example of the classic rugby shirt!

Loved the emotion in the annunciation panel IMG_3102.jpeg

This is a rare example of silk and gold cloth from the early 13thC. There were laws restricting what cloth could be worn by whom and things like this were only worn by high clergy or royalty

Slabs of plaster from church wall. The Annunciation.

Of all the intricate, beautiful, complete objects here it was these that stopped me in my tracks.

It was these that I sat on the floor in front of for a while just losing myself in them, in their history, in their simplicity. It was these that I backtracked to at the end and contemplated again and it was these that I’d have happily taken home.

@eggyg Sometimes I get the odd burst blood vessel in the eye. Maybe one every four or five years or so at most.

I’d suggest popping in to an optician and letting them take a look at it. They’ll very soon know if it’s anything that warrants speedy action or not but you do only have two eyes so it’s worth flagging things like this up with the experts if it’s unusual for you. And a pharmacist is not an expert.

Morning all. 🙂 9.9 here.

My DSN called yesterday morning. We had a long chat (she’s a keeper, she listened to me waffling on!). She’ll speak to the (dozy IMHO) consultant today to see if we can change my insulin. We’ll talk again on Thursday. Result!

Must dash! They’re resurfacing our road atm so I need to get me and the car off to work before they start again today.

Morning all are you all well. Had a treat yesterday went to a new cafe on Indie. Treated myself to an iced peach tea (normally dont like tea), it was yummy, hate to think how much sugar was in It, was that yummy i may have one today as well it (hangs head in shame)

Morning all. 6.2 and a straightish line all night. Off to have hair cut and coloured today, my roots are showing badly this time as my hair seems like its grown suddenly the last two weeks. Maybe its the sunshine  .

@eggyg glad your eye is looking better this morning but i agree with @ColinUK, get an optician to take a look.

@ColinUK exhibition looks extraordinary.

Morning and an 7.1 after a bit of DP and missing in action yesterday as just too lazy and such a lovely nights sleep in hotel.
Also had a lie in this morning and got up at 7am as no dogs to walk and was so nice.
My very good BG was ruined on Monday as I did not take my lunchtime insulin as train delays meant I arrived late and literally had to grab some lunch and just forgot so I went up to 12 for the afternoon.
Anyway back home so back to good control and Monday night we went to Arndale for Squid Game and must admit not really my type of thing but folk enjoyed them selves and happy to make a fool of myself dad dancing around.
Back on train last night was crowded and hot but folk got off early so improved quickly but so nice being in a City when weather is so nice.
Garden looks even better with gardener made a wild garden area at bottom and dogs are enjoying themselves running around in their jollies so pick them up soon.
Anyway caught up on lost sleep and Scorchio so really good gay ahead.

8.2 on waking (according to Libra) thought would do FP test that
said was 8.8 so was somewhere around that

didn’t take insulin again yesterday evening & just 4 the units at breakfast time
following speaking to GP just over a week ago, I’m still trying to see how I get on a reduced amount
that GP is confident we can drop insulin in 3 weeks time

I did eat a not so healthy evening meal yesterday
I’m trying a few things at the moment, just to really understand if I do end up coming off insulin, how this effects me

loving this summer like weather we are experiencing at the moment.
@ColinUK good to see a bit of CCC being shared today

Wishing everyone a Wonderful Wednesday
TC 😎

Good morning 6.3. Lovely morning. Need to get boys to reset CH - woke at midnight sweltering, struggled to open window, read until 03.30 before cool enough to sleep. Rt knee grumbling but not agony -see how it likes increased exercise today.
Need to be in caravan by weekend (may require a winch!) as they are advancing quickly towards my temporary bedroom. Redesigned fireplace in livingroom looking good - previous one obviously constructed by Fred Flintstone.
Physio on 1st,fracture clinic on 9th.
Hope everyone enjoyong the sunshine.

A nice round 5 for me this morning. 🙂

Dez

5.6 this morning for me.

Packing done and will soon be off to the airport for our getaway to Ireland.

Mum was really confused yesterday morning and last night. I am hoping it is just a lot of changes which is confusing her and that she will settle over the coming days. At least the staff in the home are good and I know they will care for her.

@eggyg - it’s not conjunctivitis is it? When I’ve had that in the past my eye goes alarmingly red but mostly no pain or soreness. Hope you are ok and it resolves quickly for you, I know how worrying health concerns like this can be!

Take care everyone, next post will be from Ireland!

Good morning. A happy 6.1 for me. The sun is shining and the birds are singing. All is well at minions manor. (More of a bungalow really :D)
Hope your eye is OK @eggyg . I agree with the earlier comments about getting it checked soon. Enjoy your picnic lunch today.
Stunning exhibition @ColinUK considering the age of the artworks they are in amazing condition.
Hoping you see some improvement after your physio appointment tomorrow @TinaD

More gardening today. A friend is lending his muscles to help move all the concrete blocks to the back of the shed. At the moment they are piled up at the edge of our drive.
Remember your sunscreen and enjoy your day everyone. 😎
