Group 7-day waking average?

5.8 this morning for me, starting our day from our overnight moorings at Acton Trussell. Just going down to Tixall Wide today for tonight’s overnight stop (about 3 hours or so away). Woke to sunshine and some blue skies with broken clouds (probably someone will be along soon to fix them).

8.2 today first thing, dropping to 7.4 after an hour or so.

I got a dental appointment this morning, just a routine check-up.
 
5.8 on a rather damp and grey Berkshire morning. Looks like the weather they dubbed 'dunkelflaute' is back. Still mild for the middle of November, though.

Had some sad news yesterday - someone I worked with for 25 years and who was a friend of ours (she helped my wife choose her wedding dress) as well as being a co-worker has died on what would have been her 77th birthday. She moved back to Wales when she retired but we stayed in touch, exchanged Xmas cards every year and have dropped in on her a couple of times when we've been down that way. She apparently had a fall that hospitalised her and she contracted sepsis while in hospital.

Nothing in particular on the calendar for today other than my regular swim, but might have lunch in town afterwards.

Good morning folks.

Not so good for me today at 6.1 - I had a weak moment last night and ate a whole mini bag of skittles. Probably would have been better off eating a bowl of stewed apples (just the whole fruit) and custard.

Morning all - today the sunshine and blue skies seem to have quit Cornwall and we are back to grey and a bit misty!

7.2 at 8:30 when the PDM woke me with the incessant low level bleeping that constitutes an alarm to tell me that the pod expires in 4 hours! Have changed that to 2 hours now! I don't think 7.2 is any reflection on anything I ate last night, as it's been chugging along around the 6 mark, flat as a pancake all night. It's just T1 and being unable to set the HCL to anything lower than 6.1.

Had an appointment with the DSN at long last yesterday. She had with her another nurse who is apparently taking over her clinics at the local hospital, because she is going to be working with the head pump nurse. This is a real shame as the nurse taking over knows next to nothing about pumps, so is unlikely to be any help to me, whereas the original nurse is a T1 on HCL herself. Hopefully I can be seen at the County hospital in future rather than the local hospital. Anyway we identified the FOTF and altered the maximum insulin to try to address this. Also she pointed out the daily spike after lunch, whereas I don't get one after dinner, so we altered my ratio a little at lunchtime. We shall see if this works. If not then at least I now know where to find the bells and whistles (which is not obvious) and have the capacity to alter things myself. A piece of information that was sadly lacking on the online training course for HCL.

So, today I'm not doing much until this evening when we are going to eat at the local, who are doing 4 small plates for £18, or £15 for locals. Then staying on to do the pub quiz with a couple of friends. Should be fun.

I don't think there were any HSs today?

Morning everyone, it’s a 6.0 for me today and the sun is shining (thanks Cornwall) though I can see some black clouds on the horizon.

5.1 this morning, still trying to empty the loft so much stuff we had forgotten was up there so many empty cardboard boxes which we kept in case any purchases needed returning, off cuts of carpet in case a repair was needed, the list goes hubby made a bonfire of a lot of bits and bobs last night, looks like we will need another one tonight, we have made several tip runs and got rid of an old gym bench and bike we had forgot we had to the scrap man, today we have a new tumble dryer coming we decided one a heat pump one as by all accounts there very economical to use, hubby has had his blood forms through in advance of his next scan which isn't until week commencing 23rd Dec, so no results until mid January. it will be 6 months since his last one, he's fine but still trying not to think about it, I wish I was a positive as he always is, anyway back to work and see what other treasure we can find in the loft have a lovely day everyone.

6.0 for me. Not bad as I don't normally eat after my evening meal but did have a snack whilst watching TV last night. Was a nice straight line last night though.

No plans today really - just a quiet one. I've been trying to make a crochet blanket for the best part of 2 years. I might knuckle down and try to get a few more squares made. Trouble is they're black and trying to crochet black yarn isn't easy as I can't see the stitches to count!! Which is why it's taken me so long.

They aren't going to use that spray stuff to insulate are they?
 
Hmm, I can't offer a reading as I forgot my test kit. But I can offer this photo of La Coruna , Northern Spain. We have been
celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary with cruise. Sadly, Southampton on Saturday :(

I do know quite a bit about loft insulation @Pam123 in a previous life I was qualified (well technically I still am in that field)
through insulation surveying and energy assessments /carbon reduction etc..

when you talk about "spray insulation" are you referring to blown loft insulation, that is the nice fluffy cloud like carpet on the loft floor (sometimes this is just an alternative to rolled out insulation)
or are we referring to spray foam adhesive that used to sometimes be sprayed on to the underside if the pitched roof as insulation (horrible stuff)
and believe it or not there are still companies out there that will spray the adhesive foam to the underside of roofs
if you let me know maybe on that I can advise

A BLOWN loft insulation product is fine, it's just a mineral wool or other recycled product that can also be natural fibres, but usually it's the same kind of material that makes up those big fluffy rolls that is then blown into the loft usually for access reasons

but sprayed foam on underside of roof a totally different thing that can cause damp and can deem a property un-mortgageable even

Thanks for your reply, the guy who did the survey told my hubby that whoever did our last time which was some years ago had used Fibre glass but had also put it in the eves, he said we were lucky that some of it had fallen out so the roof was able to breathe, he said they will remove all the old stuff and replace it with a thicker one, so I am assuming it will be fibre glass.
